Boutique Care Homes commemorated its 5th anniversary with a series of heartfelt ceremonies. Each home celebrated this milestone by planting a cherry blossom tree, symbolising unity and the enduring spirit of the Boutique Care Homes community.
The āOkamĆ©ā cherry trees, with carmine pink flowers and ovate leaves that turn orange and red in autumn, are a poignant symbol of strength, wisdom, and deep roots. These trees will bloom together every year, serving as a beautiful reminder of the togetherness and shared values that define Boutique Care Homes The choice of the āOkamĆ©ā cherry tree, known for its resilience and stunning seasonal blooms, symbolises the commitment to creating a vibrant and supportive environment

Boutique Care Homes extends heartfelt gratitude to the residents, their families, our dedicated team, and the broader community for their unwavering support.
Boutique Care Homes is delighted to announce that our Founder & Managing Director, Ameet Kotecha, has successfully participated in the 'I'm a Director, Get Me Out of Here!' fundraising challenge, organised by Crossroads Care Surrey.
This exhilarating event, held at the prestigious Foxhills Country Club & Resort on Friday, June 7th, 2024, saw directors from across Surrey bravely tackle bush tucker trials to raise essential funds for unpaid carers
Ameet and Boutique Care Homes raised an impressive £5,776 towards the challenge, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to all our contributors for their generous support.
The, āIām a Director, Get Me Out of Here!ā challenge supports more than 120,000 unpaid carers in Surrey, who make up 10% of the population These individuals devote themselves selflessly to the care of their loved ones, often at great personal sacrifice With an ageing population, the need for support for these unsung heroes is more critical than ever.
Ameet, who launched The Burlington by Boutique Care Homes, shared his motivation for participating: āFamily carers are the unsung heroes of the care community, tirelessly dedicating themselves to the wellbeing of their loved ones, often without recognition Boutique Care Homes stands proudly as an advocate for their invaluable support.ā
Throughout the event, Ameet who was part of the pink team, demonstrated exceptional courage and determination Highlights included him winning the reptile challenge, braving a python encounter, excelling in the eating challenge with marinated pickled cabbage, and competing fiercely in the final round of archery, assault courses, and skill challenges. Despite the Blue team winning the day, Ameet was honoured as the top fundraiser, shortly before being covered in, coincidently, āBoutique Care Homesā signature greenā gunge
David Annand, Fundraising Manager at Crossroads Care Surrey, celebrated the eventās success: āNow that the smell of fermented herring has passed and the green gunge been washed away, Iām delighted to share that this fundraising event raised an amazing Ā£25,545.06 on Friday. This means that Crossroads Care Surrey can support five unpaid carers with life-changing weekly 3 5-hour respite breaks from caring for an entire year ā
The funds raised will significantly contribute to Crossroads Care Surreyās mission of providing respite breaks, companionship visits, and end-of-life care for unpaid carers, including young carers
Ameet expressed his gratitude, stating, āIt was a privilege to participate in this challenge and to contribute to such a vital cause The dedication of unpaid carers is truly inspiring, and I am proud to support Crossroads Care Surrey in their efforts to provide the assistance and recognition these carers so richly deserve ā
I was born on March 13, 1926, in North Londonās Palmers Green Growing up with a brother, my early childhood was challenging, and I often found myself in trouble. However, there were bright spots too I started my education at a private school from the age of 4 to 7, where I thrived as the bossy one among my peers But my enthusiasm waned when I transferred to a larger private school because my deteriorating eyesight made it difficult to see the blackboard
Despite these challenges, I discovered a love for English, although I wouldnāt describe myself as brilliant in any subject I struggled with Latin but excelled in sports, particularly netball My childhood took another turn when my parents divorced during the war This upheaval led to a change of schools, which I ended up liking very much
During my childhood and teenage years, I spent time living with my aunt and uncle in Palmers Green, London My mother was afflicted with polio, and my father joined the army, necessitating the move My uncle, a GP, provided medical services at home, giving me the chance to work with him
My career in education spanned 40 years, starting as a class teacher and eventually becoming the Headteacher of an infant school A visionary in my field, I oversaw the construction of a nursery on the school grounds and trained in teaching nursery pupils I retired at 60, having enjoyed my teaching career despite the everchanging educational policies I cherished my relationships with staff, parents, and children, believing they were happy under my guidance
I never married or led a particularly exciting social life, dedicating my weekends to caring for my parents
Holidays were a delight for me, and I preferred European destinations to avoid long flights In my spare time, I loved gardening, making my own clothes, and engaging in arts and crafts. I was particularly proud of making cards, marmalade, jams, and cakes to sell for charity, once raising an impressive £1000
Additionally, I was a guide leader, teaching camp songs and telling stories on camping trips My volunteer work with the Salvation Army involved delivering talks, which I continue to enjoy with small groups at The Burlington
Retirement brought me much joy. I indulged in attending Glyndebourne, took more holidays, and dedicated myself to my hobbies Reflecting on my life, I find fulfilment in my contributions to education, my hobbies, and my charitable endeavours, living a content and meaningful life
