elcome to our first annual Bull and Female sale to be held on our Farm on Friday, March 23rd at 1:00pm. We are excited to welcome you to this new venue for us, and hope you have the chance on sale day to look at the cattle and enjoy some hospitality.

We are very happy with our bullpen this year. They exemplify everything we are striving to produce in our herd. We believe we have bulls to cover all bases. There isn’t a bull in the pen that we don’t believe can raise high quality bulls, and maternally strong females. Take note that this will be the last year to attain a son of SAV Angus Beef, and the only year to attain a son of Brooking Guideline, as we unfortunately lost this great young sire to an injury. The dams are a very important part of getting these bulls to where they are. As well, these dams need to fit a certain criteria. They need to be excellent mothers with ideal udders. They must have a good temperament, and have the ability to walk a pasture and feed a calf without breaking down. All in all, they need to look good while working hard, be functional, and prove their worth. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions about the bulls offered. I need our customers to go away feeling confident they made the right choice. As for calving ease vs power bulls, follow your gut instinct. You know your herd better than anybody, and have a grasp on what your cows can do. As an added feature, we will be selling 3 heifers from the top of our replacement pen. They are a solid maternal group that would be a nice addition to anyone’s herd. Besides the change of sale location, we also welcome our new sale partner, Come As U R Simmental and Angus. They have an elite set of cattle that have had success in the showring, and more importantly in the pasture.

This years offering is highlighted by bulls that represent top genetics in the Angus breed today. We have been adamant about using sires that will add performance, thickness, structural soundness, haircoats, eye appeal, maternal value and docility. I follow, but don’t worship EPD’s. I feel that visually seeing progeny off sires is the easiest and purest way to use a bull in my herd.
