PRODUCTION

Let the world stop while this "masterpiece" lasts.

A wine made from only the finest Tempranillo bunches from bush-ripened vines from our seven best microterroirs, aged 50 to 70 years in Rioja Alta, in the most important towns such as San Vicente, San Asensio Ábalos, and Briones, at over 500 meters above sea level, where the influence of the Atlantic climate is captured and retained.

Prolonged alcoholic fermentation at low temperature in steel tanks using indigenous yeasts, malolactic fermentation in new West Virginia Appalaches American oak barrels, followed by a meticulous 26-month aging in new West Virginia Appalaches American oak barrels, and finally, aging in the bottle for a minimum of 10 months before being released to the market.

TASTING NOTES

Medium cherry red color with a ruby rim.

Vibrant intensity and depth of aromas of black and red fruit. These initial sensations are harmonized with the extraordinary and complex background of resinous balsamic notes, delicate menthol, and blond tobacco.

On the palate, the structure is well-armed by firm, well-polished tannins extracted from that first use in our West Virginia Appalaches barrels..

TASTING NOTES SOME OF OUR AWARDS

Intense cherry color with a ruby rim. Clean and bright in the glass.

Mature and deep, with extraordinary persistence due to its notes of fruit, more black than red, such as blueberries. On the palate, pure liquid attraction, highly polished yet firm tannins from the new barrel and patient aging in the bottle, providing longevity without harshness. Smooth, with freshness and acidity that blends the fruit and oak in the aftertaste with every sip.

From our legendary and unique microterroir: Santa Tornea.

Wine made from the limited production of Viura grapes from bush-ripened vines from our legendary and unique microterroir, called Santa Tornea, less than one hectare in size and over 64 years old in Rioja Alta, in the municipality of San Vicente, at an altitude of over 500 meters, where the old vines cling to life, anchoring their roots in the sparse and poor calcareous soil, with the parent rock less than 40 cm from the surface.

Alcoholic fermentation takes place in new West Virginia Appalaches American oak barrels using its native yeasts. No malolactic fermentation. For the following eight months, the wine ages in barrels on its fine lees, undergoing meticulous and gentle bâtonnage to achieve the desired smoothness and complexity. A minimum of 12 months of bottle aging is required before release.

Limited edition of 1,800 bottles

Pale yellow in color with soft golden tones in the middle layer.

TASTING NOTES SOME OF

Subtle and discreet notes of dried fruit like raw bitter almonds and a mineral background reminiscent of wet stone edges. Very upright on the palate, its sharp acidity is surprising. It rejects the corset of whites and fish. Seek out fatty meats and, by contrast, a suckling lamb to enjoy it like never before.

Cornelio's rich acidity will cleanse your palate with every sip and make you enjoy every bite of your dish even more. Risottos with aged Parmigiano or shavings of foie micuit.
