DECEMBER 2017 | News WHITE MISCHIEF TO CLOSE We were very sad to hear that White Mischief Bridal in Henfield High Street is due to close in the New Year, after trading in the village and helping to make brides look beautiful for over 12 years. Christine Marchant, owner, said; “It is with great sadness that I have decided to hang up my veil and retire from retailing. The company will remain trading in the wholesale sector. A sudden close bereavement and the fact that retirement is no longer on the distant horizon, coupled with the shop lease expiring, meant the time was right for me to make this decision.” The retail business is still for sale and there has been some interest, but if Christine does not find a suitable person to take over the business she plans to close at the end of January. The company will remain trading and will finalise all orders after this date. White Mischief opened in 2005 and quickly became one of the premier and most popular bridal boutiques in the South of England. Christine and her team of bridal experts have dressed brides from all corners of the country, stocking international designers like Jenny Packham as well as their own successful Augusta Jones label. “We have dressed thousands of brides over the years and we’re taking away hundreds of stories of

the fun in store with our customers, their families and friends, the sadness of those we have lost and the hundreds of babies that have proudly been presented to us,” said Christine. Henfield Parish Council Chairman Malcolm Eastwood said; “I am very sorry to hear that White Mischief will no longer be trading in Henfield. The shop has really become a feature of our High Street, particularly with their stunning window displays. We appreciate Christine’s commitment and involvement in the High Street and thank her for her enormous contribution to the village.” We wish Christine lots of luck for the future, her beautiful shop will be very much missed.
