April 2022
COMMODORE’S CORNER: Dear Members, First, I want to thank my fellow Flag Officers (VC Doug Mroz & RC Brian Hitchings), the Executive Committee, all the hard working Board of Governor Chairs & Committees for focusing on Member experiences for the upcoming 2022 Season. As noted in the December’s Commodore message; efforts to enhance the Club experience are focused on making the Club a welcoming place at all times. When Club Members log on to the website or walk-in, our mission is to ensure that the club is always ready to serve and is available for your use, whether for dinner, Adult Sailing, stopping by to take in the sunset, meet friends for drinks or come by boat for lunch. ✓ A new Awning downstairs along with new teak outdoor furniture to enjoy the bay views, regattas and sunsets have been purchased. ✓ The interior design was presented at the last Board Meeting , all new flooring will be installed in the beginning of April. o
The interior plans include new painting, fabrics, furniture, and lighting that will be phased in over time.
✓ We have hired a new Club Services Manager who we will introduce come April and will be at the Club on select days and evenings to welcome you and answer any questions or requests. ✓ We have expanded the cleaning of the Club to 6 days a week to ensure the club, bathrooms, etc. are ready & presentable at all times. ✓ The Dining Chair and Committee will be announcing some exciting changes for the 2022 season. ✓ The Club’s Website is undergoing a facelift, as you may have already noticed. o
Prospective Members can now apply online!!
o
Members will be able to register and pay for Saturday events, as well as make dinner reservations all on your phone or computer.
o
Each week during the Season the website will have all the latest information on events & activities.
As you can see all the volunteers have been very busy all winter to make 2022 an experience for all Members!!! Baron L. Schlachter Commodore
