BLUECREST 2.0 What's next. by Carl Amacker

What's next for BlueCrest? Journey since 2018 When BlueCrest ventured out on its own in 2018, we never could have imagined the ups and downs we would face over the ensuing five years. During that time, we grew up as a company, we navigated a global pandemic, and we embarked on an adventure of innovation. We acquired companies, we strengthened foundational building blocks of our core business, and we helped our clients tackle the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing world.

First and foremost, we will continue to build a strong, adaptable organization, an organization that can continually flex with the dynamic nature of our business environment. At the core of our company is our foundation in Mail Production and Postal Optimization solutions. . Internally, we will augment these building blocks by adding additional support in areas of operation, supply chain, quality, customer financing, and other critical areas. We will also continue to innovate. Externally, we will continue to look at market segments and business that expand our core and continue to give us opportunities for growth.

2024 and Beyond

eCommerce and Parcels

Five years later, we must ask ourselves: what does the next five years for BlueCrest look like?

It should be no surprise to you by now that our biggest short-term opportunity for growth is in Parcel Automation. We

4

have invested heavily in this side of the business, and we will continue to do so. We envision this to be a key component of BlueCrest’s growth over the next five years. It contributed greatly to our growth as a company in 2023, and we anticipate this to continue well into the future. As such, we as a company will remain hyper-focused on building a robust business that leverages our relationship with Amazon, but also blossoms outside of that large customer and expands on our success over the past few years. We need to scale this business for growth.

Scale and Innovate In order to scale the Parcel Automation business, we needed to add key sales, presales, and support professionals. With a strategy to pursue Couriers, Distribution Centers, and other key

customers, we are putting forth a strong marketing plan to create demand and leads. As our brand recognition continues to expand into this space, we will do what we do best—innovate for our customers.

Poised for Growth We enter 2024 with a strong backlog and additional business we expect to book in the coming months. Additionally, we are looking at a clean and manageable pipeline of opportunities to build the book of business. This sets us up well to really hit the ground running in the New Year, which we hope will springboard us into an exhilarating and successful “next five years” at BlueCrest. With all of that said, building for a future in Parcel Automation will require us to adjust and realign our key resources within the core business. Since this is

one of our key growth initiatives, we will need to align our teams to focus on this goal. It’s our priority, and as our teams rise to the occasion, the sky is really the limit for us in this exciting new market.

Let’s do it again in 2024—and the next five years beyond.

Innovating a Path Forward

Carl Amacker Chief Marketing Officer

Ultimately, we at BlueCrest should be so proud of what we’ve achieved over the last five years. The future, however, is even more exciting. Whether it’s our automated Cobot solution, OttoMate, our advanced TrueSort family of sortation equipment, or our Raptor high-speed labeling system—all of these recent innovations should have us amped up for the next chapter here at BlueCrest.

Sincerely,

True, it’s not always going to be easy. It’s not always going to be smooth, but we have proven we can do it over the past five years.

CATALYZING CREATIVITY: BLUECREST The AI Secret Sauce

BLOG UPDATES by S te pha nie

into a scene right out of a sci-fi flick, by Justin O'Donnellcreepy AI Avatar’s included.

Evolving with the Times In the ever-evolving world of modern marketing, where trends go viral before we finish our morning coffee (cue the ‘Egg Crack Challenge’, ‘Tide Pod Challenge’, or for us old-timers ‘Planking’… none of which we recommend by the way), embracing innovation isn’t just an option – it’s a thrilling, and sometimes cringey, necessity. This is where the BlueCrest Marketing Team shines, and trust us, it’s not just because of our love for good memes. Okay, who are we kidding? It is totally for the love of good memes! But lately our obsession has shifted to the latest buzz word “Artificial Intelligence (AI)”, and how it’s turbocharging the digital marketing game. Since it’s inception in December, our Marketing Division has been making waves with an AI-infused strategy, transforming our team

8

To be honest, the team’s initial reaction to AI Marketing was a chorus of raised eyebrows and nervous laughter. We couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Will robots take over our creative brainstorming sessions and be donning the infamous BlueCrest swag?’ I’m here to tell you, that while we don’t know exactly what the future will hold, embracing AI has become our secret ingredient. Why? To start, the days of a ‘one-size-fits-all’ marketing strategy has officially left the scene at the launch of the dynamic

capabilities of AI to tailor campaigns and marketing tactics. In short, if we don’t welcome it with open arms, our competitors will. AI also complements human intelligence to make processes drastically more efficient and effective than they’ve ever been. So what does this mean for BlueCrest Marketing?

Everything! Crafting Content, the AI Way: With AI Chatbot platforms like Chat GPT and plugins to HubSpot we now have a treasure trove of content at our disposal. With natural language processing (NLP), it understands and mimics human language, turning our content creation process into a delightful dance of digital creativity. This digital wizardry not only saves us time but also keeps our audience entertained and engaged like never before. Did you know? All of our team members leverage A/B Testing: Our traditional approach to A/B testing involved changing variables or elements (like adding emojis to one email but not the other or changing images, send times, or even who the sender is) and analyzing results over time, but with AI, we can conduct these at warp speed. This means we can explore an array of subject lines, copy and visuals in a fraction of the time it would take manually. We build out the initial campaign, dump it into AI and

ask it to spit out an alternative. Did you know? We A/B tested Personalization vs. Non-Personalization and found that our open rates increased by over 20% with personalization! Tailored Campaigns, Transformed: Campaigns used to be a bit like throwing darts in the dark. But not just one quick game of darts, a long painful game that takes many stakeholders and lengthy creative brainstorming sessions. Thanks to platforms like Chat GPT and Google Bard, AI analyzes extensive customer data, allowing us marketers to craft highly personalized messages. It goes beyond surface-level insights, diving deep to understand not only what works better but why. This precision empowers us to fine-tune campaigns, boosting engagement and conversions to new heights. Did you know? Since we launched HubSpot with AI enhancements we increased our open rates by greater than 4% and climbing! Social Media, Supercharged: Our content is no longer just visually appealing;

it’s a well-calculated masterpiece. AI add-ons in platforms like Canva are helping us understand which images, colors, themes, styles, and times of day resonate with different audiences. As a result, our posts don’t just popthey entice, engage and they drive meaningful interactions. Did you know? We increased our social media followers by over 60% Y/Y!

valuable virtual assistant, helping us brainstorm creatively, conduct research efficiently, and present alternative approaches swiftly. It's a tool that complements our expertise, and as we move forward, we'll continue to utilize it to enhance our marketing efforts and adapt to the evolving digital landscape.

Lights, Camera, AI: You know that actors strike against AI? Well, we aren’t helping support our guild members. Currently we are testing different AI media platforms that leverage AI “humans” that look and speak like you and I to articulate the value of BlueCrest. Where is John Connor when you need him? Did you know? In the very near future you may be scratching your head wondering whether that person on the screen actually works at BlueCrest or not.

And, just so you know, it's not as complicated as it sounds – in fact, it's downright easy and surprisingly fun! We invite you to explore how you can harness the AI magic in your divisions... after getting the green light from IT, of course! - Stephanie Triggiani

COMING SOON: •Ad enhancement and targeting •Customer-facing chat bots To wrap this up neatly, AI isn’t steering the overall ship when it comes to marketing, content, or communication strategy. The helm is still firmly in the hands of our ingenious Marketing Team, steering us toward creative horizons. However, AI serves as a

He gets others involved as necessary to help resolve issues, and keeps a great attitude in a very challenging environment.

Amrbish Parekh

Ambrish has always been very happy to help colleagues. He goes beyond his normal duties to help the team. He recently took the ownership of a part sourcing issue and found the way to organize the missing parts for an upgrade project we are undertaking. Job well done!

Incognito Thomas

Joe has been an integral part of BlueCrest, providing relevant information for so many employees. He is very knowledgeable in the D365 system and can provide a quick answer, or point you in the right direction. He is a valuable asset for the Order Management team. Thank you, Joe!

10

Brad Swinford

Brad was asked to assist the supply chain team in setting up over 500 items in D365 in 24 to 48 hours. Supply Chain was provided very short notice to complete a task, which required assistance from engineering to close a supplier issue. Brad received the information and began to work on the problem immediately. Brad overachieved and completed the necessary work in just a few hours, and initial estimates were a few days. Supply Chain really appreciates the support Brad provided, and his actions clearly demonstrate teamwork & accountability. Well Done and thanks Brad!

Team Award Marcin Dobija and Thomas Bate

The UK needed resources over a weekend to install an antenna on the Isle Of Man Truesort. We needed volunteers and both Marcina and Thomas stepped up, Thomas was a new team member with no sortation experience. The feedback from TSS was that both of these guys were fantastic, using initiative, teamwork and hard work to get the job done within the weekend. Great job and really well done both.

The BlueCrest Blood Drives are held 5x/year, involve 30+ passionate BC donor volunteers, and include a valued partnership with the American Red Cross. Kayla has been Innovative and Resourceful in promoting the events and pulling in donors. She has been collaborative in working closely with the ARC staff and volunteers and BC donors to make these events run smoothly. She is accountable for the drive successes and occasional set-backs. Anyone that knows Kayla knows that she is always enthusiastic, as she was when presented with the opportunity to play a huge role with these on-going events that she knew would make a significant impact to BC employees and more importantly to the health and well-being of so many CT residents. Thank you, Kayla!

Ginger Waldschmidt

Support of our client's print consumable orders is critical to our end users' production readiness and our printing system revenue results. Success requires managing, tracking, and communicating with suppliers and many client locations. Due to constraints, August was a challenging period that prevented us from promptly shipping consumables. Ginger consistently worked to keep end-users informed of their deliveries and, as required, professionally delivered difficult news to them regarding ship dates. Ginger managed these communications with clients to keep them informed and aware. She distinguished herself with her resourcefulness and enthusiasm.

PRACTICING EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION by Kim Andersen

From the Culture Team: Effective communication plays an important role in our culture. JAPAN: Apple AirTag Ingenuity

JAPAN: Apple AirTag Ingenuity (continued)

Operation AirTag in Japan

Benefits: Because the timing of the shipment to the customer was critical for Q3 revenue, the AirTag allowed us to know the location of the cargo without having to ask the forwarder or trucker for the location, giving us peace of mind. Although there were no unexpected hold-ups for this shipment, if there were, the location information would have allowed us to make alternate decisions and take action.

An Apple AirTag was attached to the chassis of the MSE in Danbury to be delivered to Japan to track its whereabouts in semi-real time. The Air Tag was enclosed in a shock/ water resistant casing. Total cost: about $40.

FINLAND: FIRST SALE OF NE

Results: The location of the machine was accurately tracked every step of the way, despite the AirTag being enclosed in a wooden crate.

How it works: When anyone with an iPhone/ iPad comes roughly within 30 meters of the AirTag, the AirTag connects to the iOS device using low-power Bluetooth, and uses the GPS coordinates of that device to send its location to the cloud without the owner's knowledge or intervention. This location can be viewed by the "Find My Device" function on the iPhone which the AirTag was originally paired with.

The Year by Ella Wheeler Wilcox What can be said in New Year rhymes, That's not been said a thousand times? The new years come, the old years go, We know we dream, we dream we know. We rise up laughing with the light, We lie down weeping with the night. We hug the world until it stings, We curse it then and sigh for wings. We live, we love, we woo, we wed, We wreathe our brides, we sheet our dead. We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear, And that's the burden of the year.
