One thing that you should not do is go in all gung ho and plant in affiliate links or get all salesy. Note that the "products" mentioned on my about me page are freebies and very smoothly inviting a visitor to download them.

(This is of course after I have introduced myself, who I am, and how I can help my audience and the general mission statement of my blog).

This, the introduction to my about me is very intentional.

This, what I have written is very well crafted and intentional. Very clearly I am stating who I am and qualifying myself as an expert and authority in the niche.

Then, The first paragraph, re-read it, have a good look and a little though about it.

I am clearly stating who exactly my site is for!. It's an Atelier, a hangout for a certain group of people who are interested in a certain topic.

If you are into graphic design, web design, or freelancing of any kind, clearly this site is not for you but for bloggers, affiliate marketers and online business owners of all varying levels..hell yeah! - pull up and chair and join us!.

It about appealing to the right person but not every person.

It is also a hook point, hooks the right reader in as they realise this is the site for them.

Most folks will roll off here and start blabbing about themselves when this is not in the forefront of what your reader is interested in - they want to know how or why your fabulous blog is of interest and benefit to them.

Put yourself in their shoes and think: Why Would They Want To Visit Your Site: Sentences like "If you like (or are into) Subject A, Subject B and Subject C, they you have found the right place!

What Will They Gain By Checking Out Your Site: This is to say how will they benefit from your site, will it be inspirations?, help with problematic areas in typical to your niche?, motivation to start and online business? Solutions to common problems in the niche?, Support and mentoring from you?. Let your audience know what to expect from your blog
