Love lives in us, the Winstons, and we want to share a little of it with you. An open letter is directed at an individual, but it is meant to be read by a wide audience. The Winstons are already letter writers. We have a tradition where any time one of us is traveling, the Mrs. writes Winston a letter. It is a simple thing to ensure we remain connected when we aren’t physically together, but it is also to take the time to just love on my spouse without all of the busy-ness of life. So we are inviting you, dear reader, to go with us through the process of our loving…

Dear Winston,

When I take some time to be quiet in this life, I get to reflect with a joyful heart about the life we live It is such a blessing to have come to this place where I have peace and love Everything we share is beyond what I could even have imagined

Thank you for loving me, our children, and our community. Thank you for allowing your relationship with God to guide you in living your best life It is your presence that gives me courage to be my most authentic self Your smile still gives me a twitter in my tummy

I love everything about you Your generosity of spirit your deep thoughts, your silly side, and your goofy self We match so well I thank all those who came before me because it was their mistakes that made room for me and every lesson you learned along the way created the man you are today. Being your wife is surely a pleasure!

Dear Wife,

This is about to get really mushy LOL! Do you remember the first phone call we had? By the end of that call, I knew that you would be The Mrs Your laugh was the most exhilarating thing I’d ever heard and to this day it absolutely warms my whole being whenever I hear it

I don’t know what I did to be so blessed, but I’m not complaining

I know we didn’t have the greatest start, but you sure know how to turn a corner, woman I want you to know that I see your growth over the years and I am so proud of you Walking into purpose can be difficult, but you haven’t stopped Your courage to be unapologetically yourself inspires me

Your heart that loves and wants the best for everyone has taught me to love in the same way. The way you have nurtured our children while still showing them discipline has shown me how to parent in a way that I didn’t experience as a child. I want to thank you for your patience. It calms me and your love has grown me as a human being It is the thing that drives me to do better, to be better because to not be in pursuit of the best version of myself would be a dishonor to this thing we call ‘doing life together’ The second greatest love story ever told is the love that lives in us!

Love is greatest in its purest form because it goes beyond the selfish and into the selfless. For us, it is what we wanted our relationship to look like and it is how we have ensured that no matter the day, hour, or the chaos of the world, love lives in us!
