Were the words spoken by Brittney Griner soon after she touched down in San Antonio, Texas She seemed to run into the arm of her wife, who was present waiting patiently to see her, after she was wrongfully detained for several months For those of you who do not know, in February 2022, Brittney Griner was arrested, charged and convicted of being in possession of 2 cannabis vapes She was held in terrible conditions in a Russian prison, sentenced to serve 9 years. Griner remained hopeful despite the abysmal circumstances

President Biden and his team worked tirelessly, to bring the Olympic gold medalist home Biden spoke at a news conference last week thanking his team for their efforts to bring both Brittney Griner and Paul Whelan home. Biden and Russia agreed to a prisoner swap, which took place in Abu Dhabi Griner swapped with the infamous Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout Viktor Bout was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2011, for smuggling guns from Eastern Europe to Africa and the Middle East from 1990 to the early 2000s Viktor sold arms to the Taliban in Afghanistan and the Northern Alliance, and apparently, Russia believed his debts were equal to that of Griner Now to the question most people are waiting to be answered…….Is Brittney going to play in the WNBA this season?

We know that the next WNBA season starts May 19th Does BG have enough time to get in shape and return to Phoenix Mercury? Is she mentally ready to get back on the court? Griner spoke to this by saying, “I also want to make one thing very clear: I intend to play basketball for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury this season, and in doing so, I look forward to being able to say ‘thank you ’ to those of you who advocated, wrote, and posted for me in person soon ”

We are all thrilled that BG is home safely with her wife Cherelle, family, and other loved ones We pray that this traumatic experience won’t hinder the growth of BG’s career
