After School Activities (ASA) provide students with opportunities across a range of interest areas including sports, performing arts, STEAM and creativity. These opportunities allow students to further explore their passions, try new experiences and make new friendships.
ASAs for Secondary students include:

Recreational sports



There will be 5 blocks throughout the school year where students can take part in ASAs. The Study Hub runs every day.
ASAs begin at 3:45pm and end at 4:45pm. Athletics sessions end at 5pm.

Any ASAs cancelled due to external vendors or school staff will be credited to your child’s Schools Buddy account. There are no makeup sessions. If your child’s ASA is cancelled, and you are unable to collect them until 4:45pm, they will be supervised in the Study Hub

The Study Hub is a dedicated space for Secondary students to access before and after school supervision. The provision is available throughout the year, with the exception of days where school finishes early (end of Autumn Term and end of Summer Term).
In the Study Hub, Secondary students (Years 7 - 13) will have the opportunity to study, engage in a range of indoor games such as Chess and socialise with peers in a supervised environment.
The Study Hub is located in the A100’s neighbourhood, opposite the Silver Gym. Secondary students should access the Study Hub via the A100’s entry near the Green drop-off route
Students can be dropped off at the Study Hub from 6:45am-8am via the A100’s entrance door At 8am the students will transition to their allocated year group arrival locations until 8:20am.
3:30pm-5pm - After school, all Secondary students who remain on campus but are not in a supervised activity/ASA must register with the member of staff on duty at the Study Hub. At 5pm students should head to the Green Route for pick up This supervision is free of charge.
5pm-6pm - Secondary students who require additional supervision after the end of the formal school day can remain supervised in the Study Hub. If a student is attending an ASA, they should register in the Study Hub when ASAs end.

Parents should book the required sessions through Schools Buddy. It is strongly recommended to book as far in advance as spaces may be limited.
Students who are in the Study Hub and are not registered, whether in the morning from 6:45am-8am or in the afternoon between 5pm6pm, will be added to the register and a payment will be added through Schools Buddy.

Participation in the BISH Orchestra requires students to be actively enrolled in regular private instrumental lessons, either through the school or with an external provider. In order to fully engage with orchestral repertoire, all participants must also be able to read from orchestral scores All orchestra members are expected to attend two mandatory morning sectional rehearsals each week and the full orchestra rehearsal held on Tuesday mornings. Designed to offer students dedicated time to study for the SAT, alternating between the Math and English sections. The group will use the Khan Academy SAT Prep resource, which provides practice exercises and problem solving. They will also identify areas for development and work through their personalised targets. For practice exams, Bluebook provides practice exams that will be utilised. This course is recommended to be used as a supplement with other SAT preparation courses.

This student-run club will last the span of 12 weeks (over the course of two after school activities blocks). It will allow students to work in a team, incorporating design and code to build and test a functioning RC vehicle created to fit a purpose, while also learning the physics behind their design and how it helps fulfill the design’s intentions Students can expect to learn teamwork skills, perseverance, problem solving and work with 3D modeling and coding software.

This course is designed to help secondary students use their language skills in a professional context, similar to the role of an interpreter, to support new students in feeling welcomed and integrated into the school community.
