After School Activities provide students with opportunities across a range of interest areas including sports, performing arts, STEAM and creativity. These opportunities allow students to further explore their passions, try new experiences and make new friendships.
After School Activities for Secondary students include:

There will be 4 blocks of After School Activities throughout the school year.
After School Activities begin at 3:45pm and end at 4:45pm. Athletics sessions end at 5pm.

The Study Hub is a dedicated space for Secondary students to access before and after school supervision. The provision is available throughout the year, with the exception of days where school finishes early (end of Autumn Term and the end of Summer Term).
In the Study Hub, Secondary students (Years 7 - 13) will have the opportunity to study, engage in a range of indoor games such as Chess and socialize with peers in a supervised environment.
The Study Hub is located in the A100’s neighborhood, opposite the Silver Gym. Secondary students should access the Study Hub via the A100’s entry near the Green drop off route.
Students can be dropped off at the Study Hub from 6:45am-8am via the A100’s entrance door. At 8am the students will transition to their allocated year group arrival locations until 8:20am.
3:30pm-5pm - After school, all Secondary students who remain on campus but are not in a supervised activity/ASA must register at the Study Hub. At 5pm students should head to the Green Route for pick up. This supervision is free of charge.
5pm-6pm - Secondary students who require additional supervision after the end of the formal school day can remain supervised in the Study Hub. If a student is attending an ASA, they can register in the Study Hub at 4:45pm when ASAs end.

Parents should book the required sessions through Schools Buddy. It is strongly recommended to book as far in advance as spaces may be limited.

Our teams compete in the Greater Houston Athletic Conference (GHAC) for students in Year 7-9, and Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) District 4A for students in Year 10-13. In addition to our competitive athletics programme, we also offer recreational sports and training through our Enrichment and After School Activities (ASAs).

In this hands-on, project-based cooking series, older students will learn to prepare, cook, and serve a full multi-course meal from scratch! Each week focuses on essential kitchen skills like knife safety, seasoning, stove and oven use, dough kneading, and more as students build confidence and creativity in the kitchen. From sensational salads to magnificent mousse, this class ends with students teaming up to create their own three-course meal. We are a nut- and pork-free programme.

Disc golf is a fun, active outdoor game that combines the rules of traditional golf with the skills of throwing a frisbee. Its great for improving coordination, focus, and teamwork while getting plenty of fresh air. No prior experience is needed, just an enthusiasm to learn and have fun! Students will learn the basics of the game, practice their throws, and play friendly rounds on a safe, on-campus course!

This is an opportunity for young musicians to play as part of a Jazz Band. You will get the chance to learn tunes from the wide umbrella of what is considered Jazz, develop your improvisation skills and learn to read from chord and lead sheets. Middle School Maths Club is for students looking to broaden their Maths learning beyond middle school, looking at wider concepts of algebra, functions, calculus and geometry. They will develop their skills of application and problem solving, looking at content from a range of established courses, including IGCSE and IB. Students will also prepare and practice for a range of Mathematical Competitions, including AMC, UKMT and CEMC.

Participation in the BISH Orchestra requires students to be actively enrolled in regular private instrumental lessons, either through the school or with an external provider. In order to fully engage with orchestral repertoire, all participants must also be able to read from orchestral scores. Students currently enrolled in the Suzuki Strings Programme will join the orchestra too. However, to support their individual technical development, they will also need to begin private instrumental lessons. All orchestra members are expected to attend two mandatory morning sectional rehearsals each week, including the full orchestra rehearsal held on Thursday afternoons. Please check the morning Sectionals in this brochure. This is a whole academic year activity.

This club is designed specifically for Russian-speaking students, aiming to enhance their speaking, reading, and writing skills in Russian. WE WILL ROCK YOU follows two young rebels as they try to restore rock & roll to ;the iPlanet in a post-apocalyptic world. WE WILL ROCK YOU is a musical for our time: a fist-pumping, foot-stomping anthem to individuality! Main cast and band will be decided by auditions on week commencing August 18th (ensemble parts are open to all). All onstage performers should join the ASA to avoid disappointment; band members will be added separately following a successful audition. All participants must be able to attend rehearsals until February half term and will include weekend rehearsals (dates TBC) and evening.

Participation in these sectionals is an essential component of the orchestra programme and helps ensure a cohesive and high-quality performance experience. This is a whole academic year activity. Students must be taking private lessons, either in school or externally and be able to read music scores. Students must sign up to Orchestra ASA to be able to participate in this activity.

This course is designed to help secondary students use their language skills in a professional context, similar to the role of an interpreter, to support new students in feeling welcomed and integrated into the school community. Participants will enhance their heritage language and refine their ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations. Upon successful completion, each student will receive a badge and a certificate to recognize their achievement.
