El cien por ciento de los estudiados presentó disminución en los componentes de la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud. Una intervención protocolizada logró mejorar la capacidad funcional para las actividades diarias y la marcha en la mayoría de los convalecientes y en su totalidad disminuyó la disnea.

Cuba: Effective Protocols for Rehabilitating Patients with sequelae of COVID-19

Cuba is developing a study on the comprehensive rehabilitation of patients with sequelae of COVID-19, with two or more weeks of epidemiological discharge and presenting moderate disability. Among the most frequent symptoms were exhaustion, fatigue, dyspnea, anxiety, joint pain, sleep disorders, depression, dysphonia and dysphagia. One hundred percent of those studied presented a decrease in the components of health-related quality of life. A protocolized intervention improved functional capacity for daily activities and gait in most of the convalescents and overall decreased dyspnea.

The results achieved by its biotechnology sector have made it possible for Cuba to remain the only nation in Latin America and the Caribbean that has produced its own vaccines against COVID-19. Con el título de Reserva Natural de la Biosfera de la UNESCO, desde 1987, el Parque Baconao es la combinación perfecta de montañas y mar, con mucho de la historia de los primeros pobladores de la isla. Quienes exploran el área, recorriendo alguno de los caminos preparados para la práctica de senderismo, se encontrarán rodeados de una naturaleza exuberante en la que sobresalen cerca de 70 ruinas de cafetales franceses, la puerta a una verdadera aventura caribeña. El Parque Baconao es famoso por su Valle de la Prehistoria, único lugar en la isla en el que los grandes saurios aún recorren las planicies. Separados por épocas geológicas, las cientos de esculturas de dinosaurios que se levantan por todo el valle se entremezclan con imágenes a tamaño real de humanos en sus diferentes eslabones de evolución. Esta es, sin duda, una de las atracciones principales de la reserva natural de Baconao. La Gran Piedra, un pedrusco de origen volcánico con unas dimensiones de 51 metros de largo, 25 de alto y 30 de ancho, permite que quien se atreva a subir sus 459 peldaños se encuentre a una altura de 1 234 metros por encima del mar y disfrute de una vista inigualable de la parte más oriental de Cuba. Los que se aventuran al Parque Baconao no solo podrán caminar por senderos naturales únicos en el país sino que podrán montar a caballo, navegar en bote y disfrutar de un baño reparador en la Laguna de Baconao, donde las aguas acarician a las montañas que las rodean. Sin duda, una experiencia que querrás disfrutar. También es posible la práctica del buceo y la pesca en el área, deportes acuáticos que muchos de los que visitan el parque podrán disfrutar al máximo gracias a las bellezas naturales que caracterizan a este parque. Baconao es un nombre de origen indígena y hace alusión a una leyenda local que cuenta la historia de un niño aborigen y el árbol mágico Bacona. Se dice que este árbol milagroso enseñó al joven el arte de la música mediante los caracoles de la laguna. Cada tarde el niño se sentaba bajo el árbol a tocar sus caracoles y, por esto, todos en su tribu comenzaron a llamarlo Baconao. Se cuenta que un día el joven indígena salió de la aldea y nunca más se supo de él pero que su música seguía escuchándose en todo el valle. La magia había quedado atrapada en toda la zona por lo que comenzó a llamarse al área Baconao, nombre que ha llegado hasta nuestros días y continúa llenando el parque de la magia milenaria de los aborígenes cubanos. The beginning of magic

Baconao is a name of indigenous origin and alludes to a local legend that tells the story of an aboriginal boy and the magical Bacona tree. It is said that this miraculous tree taught the young boy the art of music through the shells of the lagoon. Every afternoon the boy sat under the tree to play his shells and, because of this, everyone in his tribe began to call him Baconao. The story goes that one day the young native boy left the village and was never heard from again, but his music was still heard throughout the valley. The magic had been trapped in the whole area and so it began to be called Baconao, a name that has survived to this day and continues to fill the park with the ancient magic of the Cuban aborigines.
