Excellence In Remodeling Awards Reception

This annual awards event, held in June, highlights the state’s best remodeling projects, showcasing quality craftsmanship in a variety of categories and price ranges. The event takes place in a casual setting while the highlight of the evening is the winning projects’ slide show presentation. Approximately 125 BIAW members and guests attend this event. Membership Drive

Each year, to promote membership recruitment, the BIAW offers incentives to local associations and members who grow the federation by recruiting new members and involving them in state programs. Top recruiting members earn the chance to make it to the International Builders Show which takes place at the beginning of the year in Orlando or Las Vegas and is attended by more than 45,000 building professionals. Additional membership prizes may be substituted or offered in place of the International Builders Show trip.

Education Classes | Workshops | Seminars

BIAW’s award-winning Education program provides our members with opportunities to learn about relevant topics and gain new skills to improve their businesses and processes. Whether it’s online or in a classroom at your local HBA, BIAW provides members with the latest training. Classes may vary but include Certified Lead Renovation, Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead (CESCL), and the Certified Aging in Place Series (CAPS).

We also offer classes in CPR/First Aid training, fall protection, blueprint reading, Construction Contracts and Lien Law, business and marketing classes and many more. In 2022, the BIAW provided education to over 800 members, held over 100 classes and helped countless more members with improving their businesses. Course schedules may be updated and added over time. Print Marketing Opportunities Building Insight Magazine

Building Insight is the Building Industry Association of Washington’s (BIAW) 24-page monthly magazine, that is sent to BIAW members, legislators, state officials, policy groups, local and state media and other various building industry-related affiliates.

Our member circulation is nearly 8,000 including individuals and companies, legislators, and other subscribers. BIAW is the largest trade association in Washington state and the fourth largest state association affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders.

BIAW’s influence spans throughout the building industry and is focused primarily on residential construction. As the “voice of the housing industry,” BIAW is strategically located in Olympia, Washington’s capital, and is dedicated to ensuring and enhancing the vitality of the building industry.

Terms & Conditions

• Discounts: BIAW members receive a 15 percent discount.

• Publication Date: Building Insight is published once a month (except for the combination issues of July/ August and November/December) and is mailed at the beginning of the month.

• Deadlines: The deadline to reserve ad space is the first business day of the month in which you’d like to publish and art submission deadlines are the 10th. (For example, the deadline for reserving ad space in the January issue is December 1 and the deadline to submit art is December 10th).

• Payment and Submission: Ads can be paid by check, (payable to BIAW for full contract value in advance of placement), Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, or Discover, by the 10th of each month. For inquiries or to reserve space in Building Insight, contact BIAW Communications (360) 352-7800 or communications@biaw.com.

• Cancellations: Must be in writing prior to art submission deadline (10th of every month).

Leadership Directory

This annual directory is provided to all BIAW leadership, State Directors and local associations. The spiral, wire-bound, 100+ page directory contains the contact information of BIAW leadership, BIAW State Directors, local associations, BIAW committee members and state legislators. Your company will be at the fingertips of movers and shakers in the association. Ads must be received by Jan. 15th of each year to be included in directory. No exceptions.
