estled into the western shoreline of Bay Harbor Lake stands the renowned Bay Harbor Yacht Club with its signature stone facade, landmark waterfall, lovely gardens, pillared arches and white picture-window frames. This gracious architectural focal point overlooking Lake Michigan is the social center of the Bay Harbor community for boaters and non-boaters alike. The luxury private club offers a beautiful deep-water marina with a wide variety of boating, recreational activities and yearround family programming. Awarded the Elite Distinguished Club Designation, ranking amongst the top five percent of clubs in the world, the Bay Harbor Yacht Club serves over 700 members and their guests.

The stately Clubhouse and adjacent Lange Event Center are the scene of all sorts of landlubber fun from weddings to birthday celebrations, swimming parties, fashion shows and holiday festivities. Of course, there are those members and guests who just want to relax by the pool with a good book or nap. Four outstanding restaurants await them, offering dining choices from casual to epicurean in an indoor or outdoor environment. Dine alfresco on the Quarter Deck or sample gourmet regional cuisine in the elegant Bay View Dining Room. The laid-back Beach House with its Caribbean-themed cuisine is always popular with all ages. Members love the Club’s farm-to-table fall dinners, cooking classes with the chef and family-favorite Pasta Nights. From the festive New Year’s Eve Gala to delicious summer clambakes at water’s edge, the Bay Harbor Yacht Club is a year-round favorite.

Tennis, swimming, and sailing are among the many activities provided for members. Silky-soft sand awaits swimmers and sunbathers on the Yacht Club’s private beach, where generations of children race one another to the swimming raft. Complimentary kayaks, paddleboards and sailboats are available for members and their guests — all continually supervised by certified lifeguards. Recreational facilities also include tennis, platform tennis, pickleball and bocce ball courts. In addition to active outdoor activities, the Yacht Club offers a wide range of programs for hobby enthusiasts, including a book club, collectible car club, cruise club, wine club, needlework club, mah jongg club and bridge club. The Club’s annual members-only Summer Concert Series brings world-class talent to Bay Harbor in an intimate Lange Center setting. Headline performers have ranged from superstar Sheryl Crow and Grammy-winning The Band Perry to charttoppers Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw. A complimentary Indie Music Fest highlights rising independent artists in a beautiful beach locale. Building on the Club’s incredible success, Bay Harbor Yacht Club recently completed its highly anticipated expansion and complete renovation.

Wellness Center Members are now enjoying a 7,500 sq ft. Wellness Center. This cutting-edge facility has been designed to help adult and junior members attain their fitness and health goals using state-of-the-art equipment and programming. The virtual Golf Simulator from aboutGOLF is a big hit with golfers looking to improve their swing, and cyclists are enjoying the convenience of an indoor Peloton studio. The Center is all about combining high tech with a personalized fitness experience through the use of touch-screen machines, live and virtual fitness instruction, workshops, guest speakers and special events. Certified trainers are available to instruct in proper equipment use and assist members of all fitness levels. Seasonally, energizing fitness classes include Pilates, yoga and Zumba.

The Kid’s Club — where “fun” is the name of every activity.

Kid’s Club It’s great to be a Bay Harbor kid! The Kid’s Club is where “fun” is the name of every activity. This is the place where junior members come to unwind and relax in a supervised environment while adults enjoy other areas of the Club. All ages—youngsters, tweens and teens—have their own spaces and special programs that are integrated with the Club’s junior programs and activities. The Kid’s Club offers a wide variety of children’s programs and activities where fun is the name of the game. Activities include Junior Camp, Time for Tots, Beach Camp and golf, sailing, basketball and tennis camps. Teen events include parasailing, traveling to baseball games and a Mackinac Island trip. Youngsters, tweens and teens alike have their own space to relax and unwind.

Aquatics Center & Splash Pad The summer season hits full speed at the Aquatics Center and Splash Pad. The ideally located infinity edge pool overlooks the picturesque yacht docks and harbor. For early risers and fitness buffs, a competition length lap pool is the perfect place to start the day. For family fun, the sun shelf, kids’ splash pad, hot tub, spa and bath houses provide a convenient setting for a myriad of aquatic programming. There are plenty of shaded chaise lounges available for Members, with tasty beverages served poolside.

Deep-Water Marina The Yacht Club’s stunning deep-water marina has over 100 slips, hosting a wide variety of sleek motor yachts and sailboats. Able to accommodate yachts up to 200 feet, the marina is the scene for exciting Club outings, parties and rendezvous with other yacht clubs throughout the season. Members can drive their GEM cars to the Promenade Dock and directly to their slips, where fun, socializing and adventures ensue. The Club’s active Boat Cruise Club plans several overnight cruises each summer, along with several day trips. In addition, the Club plans unique cruise themes such as the Epicurean Cruise to Traverse City and Music Fest weekend on Beaver Island. Boating activities abound throughout the summer at Bay Harbor Yacht Club. Club cruises are planned to create a fun boating season for all boat sizes. Mackinac Island and Beaver Island are located close by and are great options for a fun day trip.

Dinner With A View Members and their guests enjoy innovative menus at the three dining locations, which offer both casual and fine dining in an indoor or outdoor environment with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. Each menu is unique to its venue, with the addition of club favorites. The chefs provide fresh, local ingredients in their dining features and are happy to accommodate any dietary need or preference.

The highly-anticipated Harbor View Lounge complements the main Clubhouse bar, offering expansive views of Bay Harbor Lake, plenty of flat screen TVs and a horseshoe-shaped bar serving favorite libations.

The Quarter Deck The outdoor Quarter Deck is the “hot spot” for members to enjoy a favorite beverage or casual meal al fresco at the octagon bar. Gatherings around the conversation fire pits provide panoramic views of the lake and Bay Harbor’s famed sunsets.

Bay View Dining Room Always a favorite for both the menu and the views, the newly transformed Bay View Dining Room provides an extraordinary setting for family or private dining rooms, perfect for special celebrations. The new Harbor View Lounge is popular for its enjoyable sips and tasty bites. The Bay View Dining Room provides an upscale dining experience, while the relaxed ambiance of the Grille Room is popular for a casual evening with friends and family.

The Grille Room The nautical inspired Grille Room features classic, casual fare, a premium wine selection and a rotating selection of craft beers served on the covered terrace or indoors where multiple TVs play favorite sporting events. The Quarter Deck is the place to be in the summertime with Friday night entertainment and Guest Bartender events. It offers a casual atmosphere and casual menu, great for a fun night out.


The Relaxation Spa Bay Harbor Yacht Club’s Relaxation Spa offers the perfect setting for personal pampering with both indoor and outdoor private retreat areas. Relax and unwind in a serene sanctuary designed to refresh and rejuvenate the soul. The Relaxation Spa offers both single or couples massages, men’s and women’s steam rooms and a variety of world-class spa treatments.

Tennis & Pickleball Members enjoy the convenience of Bay Harbor Yacht Club’s Racquets Center, which is open daily throughout the season. The Club maintains two year-round, outdoor tennis sites. Three Har-Tru clay tennis courts offer fun and competitive programs for both children and adults in the summer. Two raised platform tennis courts provide a space to play paddle tennis in the winter. The Yacht Club also offers three pickleball courts and two bocce ball courts.


The Beach Club Even if you don’t have a boat, enjoy the Yacht Docks with member events held on the promenade each year. The Beach offers another level of fun to BHYC membership. Members and their guests can enjoy the complimentary sailboats, kayaks and paddleboards while under the supervision of our certified lifeguards. Umbrellas and lounge chairs are set up every morning for your convenience and towels are also available. The Sandbar Grill is located near the Yacht Docks and Beach. Grab a casual lunch and refreshment on your way to the pool, lake or boat!

Grand Social Gatherings The Yacht Club is a popular venue for weddings as well as social and business events of all types and sizes. Its world-class catering includes an acclaimed wine cellar, stellar cuisine and attentive service. Whether it’s an elegant wedding, an exotic themed event, or entertaining guests on a private yacht, the Yacht Club exceeds expectations. Seating for groups of only a few to 250 is available within the 23,000-square-foot Clubhouse. Large groups of up to 530 can be accommodated in the 40,000-square-foot Lange Event Center. The Lange Center, overlooking Lake Michigan’s Little Traverse Bay, is a landmark destination for charitable events, reunions, galas and themed parties. In addition to wine tastings and weddings, the Social Committee plans several annual events that are sure to be a surprise and delight. The Commissioning & Commodore’s Dinner kicks off the start of the season on Memorial Day weekend with a nautically themed event. The Patriotic Buffet & Fireworks in July is a long-standing family tradition. The beginning of August marks the Club’s anniversary which is always celebrated in style, and the Labor Day party is always full of surprises! The New Year’s Eve Gala is a black-tie affair with stunning décor and fabulous entertainment that rings in the New Year in style.

The fireworks display has been said to be “the Bay’s finest display!”


Endless Activities The Bay Harbor Yacht Club Programs & Activities Committee creates fun activities for all members — no matter the age or interests. Children will create lifelong friendships through Junior Camp and Time for Tots where they will enjoy arts and crafts, beach games, swimming, tennis, golf, basketball, sailing and so much more! Adults will appreciate the endless activities available to them as well! Choose from cooking classes, book club, trivia night, wine socials, car club and more.

Generations of Excellence The member-owned Yacht Club focuses on continually improving, renewing and responding to the lifestyle needs of Bay Harbor families. The Club’s Legacy Membership program allows adult children and grandchildren of members to enjoy all Yacht Club facilities, events and programs for a small annual fee. With so many amenities and activities awaiting, the Yacht Club is the place to enjoy the best of Bay Harbor, connect with family and build lifelong friendships.

Top Ranked Bay Harbor Yacht Club was recently honored with a ranking as fifteenth among sixty clubs in the “Top Clubhouses in the Nation” category, third among thirty clubs in the “Top Private Resort and Club Aquatics and Pools in the Nation” category, and twelfth among fifty clubs in the “Top 50 Fitness & Wellness Centers in the Nation” category by Club + Resort Business Magazine. This ranking reflects BHYC’s commitment to member satisfaction at every level. Both BHYC staff, management, and club members are proud to showcase our beautiful Clubhouse and top-notch amenities.

Award-Winning Since 2015, Bay Harbor Yacht Club has been honored with one of the most prestigious awards a private club can be bestowed, to be recognized as a Distinguished Club of the World. This award is selectively given to the finest private clubs, ranking Bay Harbor Yacht Club amongst the top five percent. More recently the Club has been granted the Distinguished Clubs Special “ELITE” Designation. In order to qualify for an ELITE designation, the club must have an overall club Member Experience score of 8.5 or greater; must clearly be viewed as one the top echelons of local and regional reputation and recognition; and key members of the leadership team and staff must have demonstrably superior training and experience; among additional criteria.
