Club Attire
CLUB ATTIRE
Members and guests using the Club facilities shall comply with the following rules of attire. If the policy is not followed, the Member or their guests’ may be asked to change. Alternative clothing is available at the club to purchase.
Dress Code for Dining Venues
Attire for men, women and children must be in good taste and appropriate for the season. It is expected that the Members and other persons will choose to dress in fashion befitting of the surroundings and atmosphere provided in the setting of the Club.
From October 1 until Memorial Day more casual attire (après ski attire) will be permitted in all dining rooms.
Bay View Dining, Harborview Bar, Marina Lounge, and Marina Lounge
Patio/Traditional
Appropriate Attire
Men are required to wear collared shirts. The exception is a dress non-screened “banded collar” shirt with short or long sleeves. Cotton “T-shirts” do not qualify as a dress shirt. Dress sandals and/or shoes must be always worn in the clubhouse. “Tasteful” jeans and “Dress” shorts may be permitted in the dining rooms. Hats must be removed while in the dining rooms and lounge.
Grille Room, Quarter Deck and Beach House Appropriate Attire
Walking length casual shorts, “tasteful” blue jeans with no rips or holes, and sandals are allowed.
Shorts, jeans, T-shirts, cover ups, hats, flip flops are allowed. Men must wear shirts. Shoes are required at the Quarter Deck and Grille Room. Bathing attire may only be worn in the pool and beach areas. Short shorts, cut-offs, tank tops, and similar clothing are not suitable attire at the Quarter Deck or Grille Room.
Racquet Sports Appropriate Attire
Proper attire and regulation equipment are always required on the courts. No cutoffs, jeans, bathing attire, sleeveless shirts for men, bare feet, or shoes other than proper footwear will be allowed on the courts. Shirts must always be worn.
Wellness Center Appropriate Attire
Attire and personal hygiene deemed to be offensive will not be permitted. Athletic attire is required in all wellness areas, unless specifically stated. Shirts are to provide adequate coverage. No bare midriff shirts or sports bra may be used in place of shirts. Footwear should be closed toed, athletic shoes. Exceptions to footwear apply only in specific group fitness classes. Bottoms must be adequate in length of at least midthigh. Please keep modesty in mind as it pertains to fit.
Aquatics Appropriate Attire
All persons must wear suitable bathing attire while swimming; no cutoffs, jeans, or Bermudas will be permitted. Aquatics attire must be in good taste. Cover-ups must be worn while walking to and from the clubhouse. Shoes must always be worn in the clubhouse.
CLUB POLICIES
Event Reservations
We require reservations to be made for all Club events. Due to the popularity of our food and beverage operations, reservations enable us to plan, staff and prepare for a truly exceptional experience each time you join us at the Club. You may make reservations through the member website or mobile app, by emailing bhyc@ bayharboryc.com or by calling 231.439.2100.
Dining Walk-Ins
Reservations are preferred, but we are more than happy to accommodate your last-minute dining needs. Your desired table or room may not be available without a reservation, but we will always find a perfect seat!
Cancellations
We ask for a courtesy call or email if you find yourself unable to attend your dining reservation.
Reservations for Club-sponsored events must be canceled 48-72 hours in advance, or the Member will be charged accordingly. Please refer to current Club Cancellation Policy notices.
Gratuities
A twenty percent (20%) Gratuity and a two percent (2%) mandatory service charge is added to all food and beverage checks.
Pets
Pets (except for Service Animals) are not permitted in the clubhouse or outdoor food service areas. Pets are not allowed on the beach during operating hours and must be always leashed and under the control of their owner while on the beach and other Yacht Club property. Each owner must clean up after their pet. Members are responsible for any damage or injury caused by an animal owned by, or brought upon the Club Facilities by, such Member, his or her Spouse, Children, or guests.
Smoking
The clubhouse is a smoke-free facility. Cigarette and e cigarette smoking is allowed only in designated areas on the outside of the Club. Cigar smoking is not permitted in smoking areas.
Mobile Phone Usage
No speaking on mobile phones in fitness rooms or any dining areas of the Club – including outdoor venues. Please see a staff member for a private location to conduct a conversation on your mobile phone. Place phone on vibrate or silent when in the dining or fitness areas. Texting and emailing from cellular devices is permitted in all areas of the Club. Mobile phone conversations are permitted pool and beach-side.
