BHA Liverpool celebrated Sexual Health Week 2025 by using social media to communicate key messages around safe use of AI systems in day-to-day living. A total of 11 videos were shared, discussing topics such as deepfakes, online dating, sexual health advice from AI systems, and responding to sexual health misinformation. The theme ‘Chronically Online’ is used to understand the rapid growth and development of AI systems, which can be used for good or misused and cause harm.
BHA Liverpool partnered with BHA Greater Manchester’s Sexual Health Team to create a powerful and informative campaign. Two videos were posted per day throughout the week, each video containing a different team member discussing a different topic surrounding online dating, AI and the effects on sexual health and well being.

BHA also distributed flyers during Sexual Health Week in the community and at local businesses to promote uptake of testing and condoms.
During the week, we offered testing opportunities at St Bride’s Church, as well as free sexual health advice and resources, in partnership with British Red Cross supporting refugees.

We are delighted to collaborate with the Alive Believers Community Centre in delivering cancer awareness sessions focused on breast and prostate cancer prevention.
These sessions have created valuable opportunities for open dialogue within the community, helping to challenge myths and misconceptions that often prevent individuals from seeking timely healthcare.
Alive Believers Community Centre stands as a beacon of hope a place where communities find support and strength. We are proud to be connected through this meaningful partnership.

In Partnership with Savera UK, we held a group session with men from diverse backgrounds at the Pakistani Centre.
The topic of discussion was around why sexual health matters for men. The group shared various reasons why men don’t seek healthcare compared to women. Reasons behind this included a lack of time or competing responsibilities.
The group also highlighted that men do not test regularly for STIs mainly because of the saying 'If it’s working, don't fix it'. This means that many men would not test if they do not notice any symptoms. In response to this, we discussed the importance of early detection of STIs and HIV, and how prevention and knowing one's status were also effective methods of reducing the spread of HIV

In an attempt to engage more with the student population in Liverpool, BHA participated in Freshers' Week. We held a stall at True Students, which houses a lot of students from minoritised ethnic backgrounds. While we normally hold our stalls on campus, this time we went directly to the students' residences. This allowed students to access services in a more comfortable and relaxed environment.

BHA Liverpool are now offering a drop-in testing service at TOXTETH TOWN HALL COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTRE.
Anyone can come along and get a Rapid HIV Test (with instant results), optional Full-Screen STI Test, free condoms & lube and advice & support.
EVERY MONDAY: 2pm-4pm

“I started working for BHA Liverpool in 2022 and it’s been amazing to be back this year!
BHA gave me space to utilise my research skills to make a difference in our communities and allowed me to create wonderful educational sessions for LGBTQ+ migrants.
It’s an incredibly empowering experience to be able to keep learning from others and keep breaking stigma around sexual health, but also bridging access gaps many minoritised communities face.”
“Hi, I'm Demice. I am the new community and engagement worker for BHA Liverpool.
I enjoy connecting with new people, a good cup of tea and bringing a bit of scouse humour wherever I go. Before this role I worked in women's mental health and have previously worked in media/gaming.
I wanted to work for BHA because I've always been passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives. BHA has given me the opportunity to do this and I'm excited to connect and help communities that face inequalities in a city that is so dear to my heart.”

BHA Liverpool will be working with organisations who work with women from minortised ethnic communities, developing workshops centered around PrEP, HIV and stigma. LIVERPOOL TESTING WEEK WORLD AIDS DAY 2025
