SAVERA WOMEN’S EVENT

BHA was honored to be part of the Savera UK Women’s Event, a beautifully organised, welcoming and safe space where women could come together, connect and support one another.

We had the amazing opportunity to speak with so many women about women’s health, breaking stigmas, and raising awareness.

Women’s Sexual Health and Wellbeing Workshop

CANCER ALLIANCE PROJECT

We’re proud to partner with the Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance to deliver breast and prostate cancer awareness interventions across Liverpool.

With a focus on minoritised ethnic communities— who are disproportionately impacted by these cancers we’ll work closely with local residents to improve access to information and promote early detection.

BHA partnered with Savera UK to deliver a Women’s Sexual Health and Wellbeing workshop, creating a safe, supportive space for women to openly discuss topics related to sexual health.

This women-only event covered issues such as HIV and STI prevention, while also opening up conversations around intimacy, pleasure, consent, and healthy relationships

BHA is delighted to collaborate with The British Red Cross in Liverpool to provide free sexual health services and support to refugees and asylum seekers at St Bride's Church. This initiative underscores our commitment to ensuring that health and wellbeing services are accessible to everyone, regardless of their refugee status.

A rapid HIV test is a quick and simple test used to detect HIV antibodies. A small finger prick will provide the result within approximately one minute.

BHA Liverpool attended the 'Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Profession Celebration Event' and shared all of our wonderful resources and the services that we offer with attendees.

Sexual health, Women's health and Reproductive health are all intrinsically linked and BHA were present to show the importance of looking after sexual health as much as any other aspect of personal health.

GILEAD PROJECT

BHA Liverpool were funded by Gilead Sciences to conduct a community research study throughout 2024. The study aimed at understanding levels of knowledge, access and take up of services and HIV related stigma among Liverpool’s ethnic minoritised populations.

Findings revealed gaps in knowledge of combination prevention methods, and low uptake and access to sexual health services, which were often influenced by socioeconomic disadvantages, stigma, language barriers, and the lack of culturally tailored resources.

The report recommends strategies to improve HIV education, information, and service accessibility within ethnic communities.
