May Members Benefit
As mentioned previously, we are keen to promote benefits to our members as part of the membership here at Abbey Hill.
This month, we would like to offer you all:
• £5.95 Members Breakfast Burrito, which comes with egg, sausage, bacon, hash brown, and tomatoes (beans if wanted). Perfect for a graband-go if you are running late for your tee time.
• 50% off the medium range ball token. So, for May, the £8.50 bucket for 50 balls is reduced to £4.25. This deal also runs alongside the £3 warm-up buckets for those wanting to warm up before their game. Available to members only.
• 1 x complimentary group (up to 6 people) on the adventure golf. No stipulations on time, so it can be used in the half-term holiday.

23rd March Booking
Friday 23rd March, we have a large golf day taking up tee times between 07:56 and 10:44 inclusive.
I understand that a lot of you would normally get your golf in at this time, so we have secured 10
days’ booking rights, ahead of visitors at both Aldwickbury Park and Redbourn. To book, simply contact the events team on 01908 562566 opt.2. Alternatively, you can book before or after or at one of the other BGL venues, but with 7 days in advance.

Membership Clarification
Flexi Points
I am aware that there have been a few discrepancies and uncertainties regarding membership benefits and processes, so I would like to clear up the ones that have been brought to my attention recently.
• Please, can all members, when booking their tee-time, accurately include their playing partners with them if they are not a guest. A number of members are unsure of how to find their playing partners. What you need is their address code, which essentially is the first 4 digits of their surname, first letter of their first name and then a 2 digit number, to distinguish between those members whose first 5 letters are identical. If you would like to know your own and share with your playing group, then please see the pro-shop for your own code.
• 5-day membership entitles the members to play both the main course and short course Mon–Fri, excluding bank holidays. As mentioned in my previous email, there is a discounted rate after 11am bank holidays for 5-day members, but with a more compact playing period generally for 7 days, and more of them, the bank holidays should be seen as a benefit to 7 day members. I do not see a tee time issue with the Par 3, so 5 days members can play the Par 3 on a bank holiday.
• Flexi points membership, while staying the same at £400 for 800 points this year, does effectively go up due to the points allocation going up. Flexi points as per Lump Sum and Direct Debit members also goes up from 1st April every year. For updated points,

• Please cancel all unused tee times as far in advance as possible, this also means reducing the numbers in your group. While we can get very busy, there are also periods that we are busy on the tee-sheet but much fewer members turn up than expected, while had led to others not being able to get a tee time.
• If you are injured or are having an operation that dictates you are unable to play, you can suspend your membership, both lump sum and direct debit. This cannot be done retrospectively. Any credit owed from a lump sum suspension will come off the next years membership fees. Direct Debits can be frozen. Medical notes will be needed.
Prostate Screening
Sunday 18th May, 10:00 – 13:30
We’re pleased to be hosting an on-site prostate screening event at the club, aimed at promoting health and early detection. This is a simple and important way to take care of your health, and we encourage all eligible people, whether members, friends or family, to consider booking a screening.
The screenings will be conducted by qualified medical professionals in a private and comfortable setting here at the club.
