Global Culture Fair

The Global Culture fair celebrates the many cultures we have present at Birkerød Gymnasium, allowing the STX, HF, staff and other IB students to appreciate the vast diversity we are so proud of.

To begin the day, the morning meeting was concluded with a Culture Fashion show, where we had 32 nations showing off their beautiful traditional gowns, suits, and headwear. For example, Pakistan’s models wore gorgeous Pakistani dresses called shalwar kameez; vibrant, eye-catching and glittering in the light. After the catwalk, all first-year students from STX went to Samlingssalen to enjoy the sound of Spanish, Mexican, Egyptian and Brazilian music, the fragrance of Asian spicas the many different languages being taught to curious students, emerged in the cultures that they knew little about. Marie and Cecilie from 1g said, “At every stand, I learnt something new” and “The food is fantastic! I didn’t taste anything I disliked.”
