FROM THE HIGH PRIESTESS & OWNER OF BEWITCHY Finally we are back! It's been a long and windy road full of amazing ups and downs. And we haven't regretted any of them.

We've had a few admin come and go from the main BeWitchy group on fb.

We've all done some reflecting about good times, old times, new times to come.

A message for us all, is that out with the old, allows the new to unfold.

Perhaps someone has been holding you back? Perhaps you were holding yourself back?

There is a lot of truth in that old saying that some can be our frenemies, sitting, watching, waiting and hoping that you will fail.

With that knowledge comes responsibility... the responsibility of decision. Some will say to keep an enemy close, but I know better than that. This is not always the case or relevant to each scenario.

WITCHES NEED EXERCISE TOO! EIGHT BEST STRETCHES TO DO BEFORE WALKING, RUNNING, PILATES OR YOGA. Walking Lunges Step forward with your right leg, putting the weight into your heel.

Bend the right knee, lowering down so that it's parallel to the floor in a lunge position.

Do so slowly. Without moving the right leg, move your left foot forward, repeating the same movement on the left leg.

Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretch Kneel on a mat with both knees, then place one foot forward so that you have a 90degree angle at the hip and knee. Place your hands on the front knee for support.

Keeping the torso upright, slowly lean forward until you feel a comfortable stretch through the groin and top of the thigh (rear leg). Move slowly back and forth 5-10 times, or maintain a hold for 10-30 seconds.

GROUNDING

Grounding is an important part of our physical and spiritual health.

Grounding may help you refocus on the now. The present moment in time where you need to be. It may remove anxious feelings and destress you on some level.

Let's start with: Physical grounding techniques 1. Put your hands in water Focus on the water’s temperature and how it feels on your fingertips, palms, and the backs of your hands. How does it make you feel?

2. Pick up some sand or dirt. How does it feel on your hands?

Stand with your feet slightly wider than your shoulders.

Then raise your left arm up and sideways over your head.

You should reach down to your leg w/ the other arm ie sliding down the leg.

Repeat this on the other side. *Avoid leaning forwards or back when doing this exercise. You can do this by imagining you are sandwiched between two walls, one in front of you and one behind that stop you being able to move forwards or backwards, only sideways.

3. Breathe deeply - slowly in and out, savouring each moment.

4. Eat. Eating enjoyable food and REALLY tasting, each and every bite.

5. Smell something pretty. That might be some oils, a cup of tea or coffee, a herb, spice, a scented candle, some melts, a flower...

6. Listening to birds single and trees move in the wind.

7. Read a book or watch your favourite movie!

These are just some ideas to get you going but wait til next month when we give you more on this topic. We explain why grounding is important for your magical practices as well.

Familiars Familiars were believed to be supernatural entities that would assist witches and "cunning folk" in their practice of magic.

Familiars are spirit beings that witches make intentional and natural or accidental pacts with.

Because familiars present within a flesh vessel, it does mean they won't spend their entire life with a witch, within that vessel, most likely, however, they can shift into another flesh vessel, to continue your life together.

Many have reported sensing or feeling their previous familiar within another.

What they do: They give us love. Protect, shift between the worlds, perform acts for the witch, companionship and friendship, pass messages onto the witch, form a strong psychic connection & assist in the witches development. Nurture the witch if she is unwell. For example a cat may spend time laying on your bed if you have the flu.

Familiars The relationship between witches and familiars runs deeper than you could ever possibly know or understand, unless you have experienced it yourself.

Many think this is clichéd or non existent.

Familiars are usually (but not always) household pets that serve as a witch’s companion & helper.

Sometimes a witch can feel an IMMEDIATE connection to her familiar.

Familiars are like guides, who take the form of an animal on Earth.

They can warn you about someone ie a cat may hiss at someone who is not good for you. A dog might bark or lunge at a person if they are bad.

They are loyal, they are true guardians and they are protectors of witches. They are sent or manifested to assist with their magic and life in general.

They can send warnings telepathically or through behaviours.

Familiars are not just our pets or friends, they are connected to us psychically and telepathically.

If you are lucky enough to have a genuine familiar, treat them with all the respect and dignity, like a royal.

Bathe them with love, adoration, and appreciation.

HOW TO GET OVER THE EX This is something I hear all too often about and something, as a human, I too have been through and experienced many a time. It does not matter who you are, we will all experience some sort of heartache, heart break or unexpected unrequited love! So how do we get over an ex?

A potential boyfriend/ girlfriend that seemingly screwed us over or has no real interest in pursuing or having anything with us?

It’s not easy and each person will be different in how they deal with the pain.

Some deal with it by issuing a strong vengeance, others cry it out, others simply move on and don’t look back, some will accept it wasn’t meant to be and then there are the ones who never get over it and new potential relationships suffer (and so do they).

Think about this for one moment.

Someone has or has not intentionally hurt you.

The minute you can accept that this other person for whatever reason is not on the same path or level as you, will be the first step of acknowledgement, or even that the person is NOT right for you (for whatever reason) therefore giving you the green light to move forward with healing.

Be completely honest with yourself.

REGARDLESS of their reason, excuse or lack thereof – actions speak louder than words and if your needs are not being met, then this person IS NOT on the same level or path as you!

1. Allow yourself to go through the pain, the ups and the downs. The first important point, is to allow yourself a grieving period. Anger, tears, hurt, wanting to seek revenge to any person you feel was involved… all perfectly normal reactions but ones that should be contained somewhat ie the revenge part.

HOW TO GET OVER THE EX You’ve probably spent your life with people telling you to get over it, or keep yourself busy… and yes you will need to do those things but acceptance and allowing yourself to feel whatever emotions you have at the time, will ultimately help you get over it.

2. Ask questions, but don’t over analyse.

DO write it all down. Getting it OUT, HELPS! As yourself, why did he dump me? Why does he not care about my feelings? Allow yourself those emotional moments. Write down what you think his answers would be.

3. Detach emotionally, when you are ready. Do begin to get back into the world. DO NOT RUSH into a new relationship and DO NOT try to win your ex back. If it is meant to be, and the other person is genuine, they will find a way to make it work… If you felt as if you were the one in the wrong and you tried to make amends but it got you nowhere, simply accept the person is not ready and may never be.

It is important you make the effort to move forward as best you can. Accept and decide that it is time to move forward with life and love again.

In this list, write down all the things this person did to hurt you and next to it, write down, why you disliked that treatment. Chances are if someone broke your heart, there was a lead up to it OR just the mere fact they ignored your calls since ending it with you, is what will need to go on this list.

4. View your relationship from the outside. The following exercises and suggestions will help you look at your circumstances from different points of view.

Refer to that reality checklist when you are feeling weak and potentially wanting to move back into a situation that is actually no good for you in the longer term.

A. Think about the break-up of your relationship. What are the judgements or generalisations you have made about yourself and your ex?

In a couple to a few months time, I want you to consider tearing it up into little pieces, burning it and thanking the universe for the experience and to visualise, letting that part of your life go forever away.

You might find it helpful to write these down too actually.

B. Now think of someone you admire – a character from history or a real friend.

Imagine they are watching a movie of this part of your life, and step into their shoes to watch it instead.

HOW TO GET OVER THE EX Imagine what their comments would be and what judgements they would make.

C. Now imagine that a neutral observer is watching the movie of your life. Step into their shoes and watch it from there.

Write down wha you think they might think.

D. Notice the differences that you see from each point of view. Which ones are helpful? Which ones make you feel better? Use these perspectives to view your relationship in a new light. People who get over difficulties well rarely see what has happened to them as a disaster.

They frame it as a challenge or accept it was a life lesson or simple experience. It is a matter of a point of view. It is not what happens to us, but how we interpret it that determines the outcome for us.

Read the list daily for a few weeks.

Perhaps even leave a reminder in your bathroom, bedroom or fridge.

F. Allow some fantasising. Grief wouldn’t be the natural process that it should be without some yearning for the person you just lost. If I was to suggest to you that you should not fantasise about the person you just lost – you’d probably fantasise about the person you just lost.

So do what you need to but don’t obsess and DO TRY to fantasise about other things you WANT or NEED to come into your life instead! Daydream about what was, experiences together etc but then move onto how you want your life to be in the future.

G. Help someone else. Yes help someone else! EVEN if you think they aren’t Allowing yourself to remain attached, needing it as much as you feel you do. will only cause you harm. HOW TO GET OVER THE EX K. Create a new world.

This is especially important if your world has collided with his, meaning that mutual friends who have seen him in the last week feel the need to tell you about it ANNNNND you don’t want to hear about it or their presence remind you of him/her.

Create your own safe world, full of new friends who wouldn’t recognise him in a crowd and don’t know how to spell his name or where he is not allowed to drop by for a surprise visit.

Take this opportunity to try something new as well like scuba diving lessons, an art class, a book club, a blog, meditation, so to program your mind and body to expect a fresh beginning… without him (or her).

Remember though you need a healthy balance.

You don’t want to cut all of those friends off, for various reasons. BUT the ones you deem toxic or are hurting your safe space just try to cut them out.

You could simply let them know you are struggling with it etc.

Don’t isolate yourself or totally try to avoid it.

Hiding and or running away is not good advice and could also hurt the feelings of mutual friends who actually care about you and genuinely like you – so be super honest with everyone, where you feel it is safe to do so.

Those that respect and understand, keep them around.

So in other words, if you tell one of those mutual friends you don’t want to hear about the ex and their new life and they continually do it without any concern for your feelings, those are the ones, you do not want to keep around.

Avoid avoid avoid.

Remind them once, reprimand them twice, 3 times you're out. Avoid for you, if you feel the need to.

We live in a world now where we are continually told to think of ourselves, to a point where it just becomes straight out selfish and inconsiderate of others feelings – try to have that balance of courtesy.

L. Find hope again and try to forgive. To forgive is to let go… to let go, is to be free again. To be free is to live again.

To live again is to love again. What is hope?

Hope is believing that the sadness can evaporate, that if you try like hell to move on with your life, that your fake smile, won’t always be a forced smile.

What hope means: a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. A feeling of trust. Want something to happen or be the case.

HOW TO GET OVER THE EX To forgive means to let go of anger and fear and helps you find that inner peace again.

Forgive is to stop feeling angry or resentful towards (someone) for an offence, flaw, or mistake.

You are no longer feel angry about or wish to punish (an offence, flaw, or mistake). And to cancel (a debt).

Know and believe that hope exists, we just have to find it and to find it, we have to forgive.

When you lose something that mattered to you, it is natural and important to feel sad about it: that feeling is an essential part of the healing process.

The problem with broken-hearted people is that they seem to be reliving their misery over and over again.

If you cannot seem to break the cycle of painful memories, the chances are that you are locked into repeating dysfunctional patterns of behaviour.

Your pain has become a mental habit.

This habit can, and must, be broken.

Forgiving DOES NOT mean you forget, you can simply accept the person was an ass and did not deserve you anyway… that it would not have mattered who you were, they would have done the same thing to the next person.

Forgive them because they are only human too and we all make mistakes.

BUT LEARN from that lesson.

Don’t look back.

M. Again, accept the pain. Yes I am repeating myself… Accept that you will have to go through some pain.

It is an unavoidable truth that if you loved enough to be heartbroken, you have to experience some suffering.

It is good for you to recognise those feelings and accepting you feel hurt.

This is not to belittle the strength of your feelings or the importance of the habits you’ve built up during your relationship.

Without habit, none of us would function. But there comes a time when the pain becomes unhealthy.

When you enter your bedroom at night, you switch on the light without thinking.

If you obsess about your ex, and feel unhappy all the time, it’s likely that your unconscious mind is ‘switching on’ your emotions in exactly the same way.

It is truly important that you make an actual effort to move forward.

Holding onto hope weeks, months, years later, is truly unhealthy for everyone.

HOW TO GET OVER THE EX anything special! The next stage is to focus on your mental picture of your lost love.

By changing how you represent your ex in your mind, you can greatly reduce or even eliminate your distress.

You must learn to control your ‘visualisation’. Every single one of us makes pictures in our imagination (visualisation) – and we can all learn how to change the pictures.

It is important to learn to do this, because our bodies react to what we imagine in the same way that they react to what is actually happening to us. Memory and imagination affect our feelings in the same way as reality does.

We are constantly altering our state by the pictures we make in our imagination and the way we talk to ourselves.

So it is vital to control those pictures and not let them run away with our feelings.

See the truth for what it really is… not what little picture you’ve made up in your mind.

Now try to imagine what your front door would look like if it was bright orange or had yellow stripes down it.

Make it bigger. Move it away so that it is smaller. Move it further away and down a bit so you are looking down on it.

Make it open. Change it in different ways.

Think about your ex now.

As soon as you remember what someone looks like, you are using visualisation.

What is the expression on his or her face?

Observe what your ex is wearing and what he or she is doing.

Where do you see the picture of them?

Q. Change how you see your past.

In front of you, or to the left or the right?

Is it life size or smaller?

Is it a movie or a still image? Is it solid or transparent?

Answer the following question: To be able to answer that question, you have had to make a mental picture of the door OR just know whether you are entering Now, as you keep that image in your or exiting. You have made a visualisation. mind’s eye, notice the feelings that arise.

HOW TO GET OVER THE EX Make a note of those feelings.

R. Now you could remember or imagine them differently. You can imagine you are a great film director. You can reshoot the scenes of your memory and imagination in any way you want. You can change the action, soundtrack, lighting, camera angles, framing, focus and speed. Change how you are visualising your ex and notice how it affects your feelings.

Bring to mind the picture you had of your ex.

Notice where it appears and how big it is.

Now drain the colour out until it looks like an old black and white picture.

Move the image further away until it is a quarter in size of it's original self.

Shrink it even further, right down to a little black dot.

Notice how your feelings have changed and compare how you feel now to the note you made earlier.

You will notice that some changes have a bigger effect than others. Images that are closer, bigger, brighter and more colourful have greater emotional intensity than those that are duller, smaller and further away.

Standing outside your memories and watching as if they were a movie helps you distance yourself from them. It makes them seem like they are not a reality, therefore assisting you in disconnecting emotionally.

S. Fall out of love with your ex. Now you are ready to tackle the central problem using the visualisation technique already mentioned. Part of being heartbroken is the fact that you still feel in love. It hurts because part of you is still attached to your ex.

This exercise helps that piece of you release itself.

1. List five occasions when you felt very in love with your ex. List them so you can easily call them to mind.

2. Start with the first of those memories.

Play with it. Move the image away from you so that you can see yourself in the picture. Make it small.

3. Drain out the colour so it is black and white, then make it transparent. When you look at your memory like this, it will seem as if the event is happening to someone else, and the emotional intensity will be reduced still further. You are starting to re-code your memory.

HOW TO GET OVER THE EX Concentrate on the exercise and do it methodically. Some people have found that doing this just once makes them feel different. To make sure the effect sticks, do it every day for two weeks.

4. When you have finished re-coding the first memory, do the same for the next one. Work through them until you have done all five.

5. Remember in detail five negative experiences with your ex-partner, where you felt very definitely put off by him or her. List the five experiences.

9. Understand your emotions. The next stage is to learn to understand your emotional reactions better. Your feelings of heartbreak are unlikely to disappear unless you cope with what they are trying to tell you.

An emotion is a bit like someone knocking on your door to deliver a message.

If you don’t answer, it keeps knocking until you do open up. Opening the door to your feelings means learning to understand them. This can be hard, 6. Take the least appealing memory and fully return to that moment. Try to relive because heartbreak is complicated by other feelings: anger, fear and shame. it.

7. Now turn up the colour and the clarity.

Make the memory as bright and clear as you can, and experience the feelings more and more strongly.

8. Go through each of the other four negative memories of your ex-partner, and relive them.

Carry on until even thinking about them puts you off. When you think about the bad experiences again and again, the negative memories begin to join up so that there is no space between them for the feelings of love, yearning and regret.

10. Believe that you will fall in love again (even though you might not want to).

You could fall into the trap of remaining convinced that your ex is the only person you could ever love.

This is unlikely to be true on a planet with six billion people. So why do you believe it? Can it be because you are desperately trying to avoid accepting that the relationship is over?

Or are you afraid that the bad feelings associated with heartbreak will never go away?

SPELL 1:

Simply tear up a photo of your ex.

Recite: I am over you, I have let you go. Move forward now I do, true love found thee.

SPELL 2: Write his name on a piece of paper.

Add: I will let go of him/her. I will move on and he/she will move on from me. I have healed and they too shall heal and move on.

Add that you wish to heal from this person and find the strength to move on ie I will move on and I will be happy about it.

SPELL 5: The full moon is a good time to set the intention of letting go.

The energy of the waning moon will help you release feelings that do not serve you.

On the full moon, light a candle and welcome in the energy of the Universe, your spirit guides, and your inner goddess.

On a piece of paper, write down what you want to let go of ie the ex, certain feelings or expectations, etc.

Hold the paper over the flame and let it burn.

As it burns, say, “I release that which does not serve me. I release this ex of mine (say their name), So mote it be.”

After your paper has been burned, you might dip your hands in a bowl of water to symbolize a clean start.

SPELL 3: Light a candle and ask the gods/ goddesses to light the path to helping you move forward.

In the coming days offer gratitude for all of the support systems and relationships in your life, which allow you to let go without fear.

SPELL 4: Write his name on a candle from the bottom of the candle to the top.

Thank all universal beings for helping you let go, move on and giving you the strength to make a fresh start.

YOU HAVE RISEN ANONYMOUS FROM A MEMBER

I had surgery on January 3. I couldn’t find anyone to come help me. I called one of my best friends, she said her uncle, I had met before, would come help me.

His name, the Veteran, that helped me came straight away to me, I knew what that meant.

When I got back home from surgery he was here. He is a 63 year old Veteran.

I yelled It’s Not Your Time To Go, You’re Not Done Helping Come Back from where you are, it’s not your time, GO BACK TO YOUR BODY!!!!

I put my necklace done.

We got along so wonderfully. I was upset because I should be the one helping him.

His niece called about 15 minutes later to tell me the ambulance was taking him to the hospital.

Time came he needed to go back, we hugged each other and said our goodbyes.

After he got out, I went to him and said, you visited me. He said I know and whatever you did made me come back, he said he was hardly jolted back to his body.

About 2-3 days pass, it’s night time.

I was laying crossways on my bed doing word circles and listening to He was hearing all kinds of loved ones true tails. I was sensing something was voices they were filling his head, it up. was more intense when I was close to him.

I felt my bed sink down behind me I told him not to be surprised if his and cold from my hips to shoulder “door” opens and he experiences blades. I aimed my phone behind me more different gifts. and snapped a picture, I seen an angelic feature on my wall.

Further down he was talking to me and said they were trying to come Ok so usually if I’m supposed to do through but he didn’t know how to something or say something it comes receive. in my mind and I do it, no questions He told me with a tear in his eye, asked. thank you for all you done.

I sat up, took my necklace off and asked is this you I feel?

Please tell us a little about yourself.

Whatever comes to mind.

So since I was very young around 5-7, I noticed that I was much different than other children.

I wasn’t told anything but was drawn to horror, creepy, odd, strange, the unusual. I had deep emotion, compassion for most everything.

I noticed fruit of the lips also during these ages but brushed it off as coincidence for a few until I had wished for someone to be in a car accident and low and behold poof.

I didn’t like that so I decided to caution my thoughts before words.

I took in how people treated people and sorted what I thought would be the right way to conduct oneself.

What have you done work wise? What have you done to help you throughout these experiences?

I have studied through the past 12 years and I try to help myself mentally every day. I would go through it all again to feel at peace within and the earth.

I moved away 2010 and just started “rewiring “ my mind and digging through so very much inside brought it to the light and the more I done that the more gifts came to me.

There’s so much between that happened. I struggled hard and at one point I became an alcoholic for a couple years and met someone and I no longer had the urge that I needed to drink.

I wrote poems, read, and watched horror movies.

I didn’t have the best upbringing and went through so much at a young age, at one point I would write pages of I I’ve been institutionalized 3 times for hate 'members own name here' and trying to commit suicide and others cry because I felt so alone. in between I had tried and failed.

In sixth grade I tried to kill myself.

Needless to say it didn’t work. I’ll halt here, there’s much behind the scenes through that

I’ve been through an abusive marriage and was raped, my knee is really messed up, shoulder comes out easily, been through 16 surgeries and more to come.

Last year I was brutally raped, then horrifically abused/tortured.

My parents fought constantly verbally and physically, one Christmas Eve my mom sent me to the neighbors and my dad put a gun to his head but police got there.

Seen so much, horror movies comfort me.

Anyway, finally I become one and it’s wonderful and I want to live to help others.

I am unable to work have been for quite a while.

I’ve had so much going on between people passing away, people being ill, going to patch people up, my best friend having a demon in him, my youngest just having a hard time.

I waited on him to see if he started showing any gifts and he did, so then we had many many talks I’ve never lied to him about anything I always ask what he feels about things.

I’ve mostly been wise beyond my years, people come to me for advice and I always say “you know I don’t sugarcoat, still want my advice“ ???

down to earth woman but through many years I noticed I have a hard time getting along with females.

I have something that tells me what to do at times, usually with strangers, it will want me to convey messages.

I do it no matter how dumb I feel lol I look in eyes and feel that person And some other neat stuff and this stuff, it’s what mended me, but it took me going through everything I had stored in me and sorting and placing it where it needed to be.

I analyze everything!!!!! I have numbers that are my favorite and letters but anything else I don’t really have favorites like colors, food, vehicles, I’m different and I like it.

Ohh since I was a kid, this happened with songs, movies and people, it would be in my head and then it would happen.

My mom is with me right now, I hope she is proud she’s on my left back and shoulder.

Oh my dreams are like right now and I do get premonitions from them and messages.

Sooooo much and I’m grateful for it all.

You guys helped me to feel better and to come out of my shell, I love you’s (member is referring to our group BeWitchy, our community) for what you’ve done because now I’m ok that I’m sensitive, spiritually gifted, at one with myself, in touch with the earth... being able to see, being ok with all different spirits and the forms they take for me to notice even animals.

3. Do you have many friends in the witchcraft community that are aware of what you have been through?

3. I have 3 actual people who I can relate with and who relate with me on matters. I don’t really have a community, but we help each other and others in different ways.

1. How do you feel witchcraft has helped you overcome or get through these life issues and experiences you have had?

1. It has taught me that it is ok to love myself and to not push my gifts away yet to bare open arms, heart, and mind.

2. Absolutely not, because I didn’t have self love and it reinforces self love and love of others may it be a person, animal, tree, plant, down to a droplet or water. It has enhanced me to appreciate so much more than just waking up. Although I’ll never fully overcome many things, I can have a sense of appreciation for for all good and bad that has happened.
