SEPTEMBER 2022 PROGRAMS COMMITTEE REPORT

I. Officer or Committee Report Summary.

Greetings Sorors, Philos, and Rhoers! I am happy to present our programs report. The committee continues to organize and communicate via GroupMe. The committee will meet Tuesday, September 13th to plan upcoming essential programs.

This September, we’re joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Join our team, help us raise funds, and join us for a national virtual walk/run!

Join us for a local 5k Walk/Run to end Childhood Cancer Saturday, September 24th at 10am. We will meet at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center (1440 N. Laburnum Ave. Henrico, VA 23223). Click here to register for our virtual local walk/run.

II. Recommendations for chapter action.

To assist our chapter with efficiently handling the business of the chapter, a Programs and Service Project Proposal Form has been created. This form serves as a guide to outline the information necessary for Committee Chairs and Committee Members to research and gather necessary information for reporting and financial accounting. The committee recommends all proposals for chapter review, be submitted using this form, no less than 30-days from the proposed project date. Upon submission, the Beta Xi Sigma Programs Coordinator will review. The status of the submission will be communicated within 10-business days, including if the proposal requires additional information and the date the proposal will be presented to the chapter.

This form has been created and will be sent out to the chapter soon.

III. Reminders and/or upcoming things to know.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 22nd at 4pm for Chipotle night!! Invite friends, family, co-workers and anyone else you know to join us for dinner (in-person or order online for pick-up) for our fundraiser night. 33% of proceeds will help us benefit St. Jude! More details coming soon!
