– maximum comfort on hikes with full pack. QUATTRO STABILIZING SYSTEM. For many years, the QSS carrying system has set the standard for the world’s most advanced backpacks. The fifth generation QSS is lighter, better, and more comfortable than ever. The QSS carrying system has several designs that are patent-protected.

BACKPACKS Although the basic problems related to carrying rucksacks were solved by Ole F. Bergan more than 100 years ago, our approach to carrying techniques is becoming increasingly nuanced. We all have our burdens and our own unique bodies to carry them. When purchasing a rucksack you need to consider the following: What are you carrying? Who are you? What kind of carrying do you have in mind? Is it long hikes with heavy loads, brief summit treks, or just the 150 metres from the car to the cabin twice a year? Bergans has a wide range of rucksacks to suit various requirements.
your head and neck.
2. The composite stays prevent the backpack from becoming cylindrical when packed,
ensuring that the load will be placed as close to the body as possible. This promotes correct posture and prevents imbalance. It also ensures optimum weight transfer from the backpack to the entire carrying system.
3. Patented adjustment buckle. Enables separate adjustment of left and right shoulder straps. This makes it possible to adjust for misalignments in the individual user’s back.
4. Stabilizing straps on the hip belt improve stability by pulling the pack closer to your body.
5. The weight is transferred by means of shock absorbers that reduce the strain, particularly
on the spine and knees, when carrying heavy loads. The shock absorbers give the anatomical frame flexibility which prevents movement in the hips, back and shoulders from being impeded or locked due to the backpack’s design. They also control/limit the flexibility in the hip belt, which prevents instability in the backpack at high activity levels.
6. Stepless, adjustable stabilizing straps between the top of the pack and the shoulder harness.
7. Anatomically shaped harness that follows the angle of your shoulders. The shoulder
harness has three layers; one layer of soft foam against the shoulder for optimum carrying comfort, stiffer foam in the middle, and finally a reinforcing plate to distribute the load.
8. Conically shaped hip belt. Padded with soft foam against the hip for maximum
comfort and stiffer foam on the other side to ensure that the weight is distributed evenly.
