Local author Kathy Sparacino releases book, “Where the Columbines Grow” Kathy Sparacino of Surface Creek Writers has released a new book, “Where Columbines Grow,” a historical fiction set in the Colorado Rocky Mountains about an Indian encountering a homesteading family. But this is not your typical western. “Where Columbines Grow” is filled with believable characters, descriptive views of the landscape and unexpected futures, as love and dreams collide together, creating a colorful kaleidoscope of expectation and suspense.
