The Beacon Parents’ Society

The Beacon Parents' Society (BPS) held successful fundraising events over our Spring Term, raising funds for various school projects and planning to continue to support the school in funding new equipment.

The Spring Term was another busy one for the Beacon Parents’ Society (BPS). In February, they held their inaugural Second-Hand Costume Sale, giving parents the opportunity to donate their sons' costumes for school-themed days by selling these on to families needing one for a future event. The BPS hope to make these sales a regular event in the school calendar to tie in with any upcoming school-themed days, with a view to being more sustainable as well as raising funds for BPS projects in school.

At the end of the Spring Term, the BPS held their popular Easter Cake Sale and this year, introduced a new Cupcake Competition. The number of entries received from our boys from Nursery to Year 8 was overwhelming and the standard of cupcakes was outstanding - there are a lot of very talented Beacon bakers. The BPS raised a fantastic £797! Many thanks to all the parents and boys for their support of the event.

The BPS continues to fund new equipment in school, including a state-of-the-art kinetic sandbox for the Geography department, new table tennis tables for the boys to play on at break-time, Roman Legionnary Armour and now a mannequin for the Classics Department plus multiple new board games and card games for a new Games Café which is held at breaktimes. The BPS are looking forward to being able to continue their support of future projects that benefit all our Beacon boys.
