Roll Up, Roll Up
Boys in Early Years had a fun-filled Circus Day at the end of the Spring Term filled with activities, a Drama workshop and more!
For our boys in Early Years, Circus Day marked the end of their overarching topic, ‘The Circus’. They were encouraged to dress in brightly coloured clothes for the day and on arrival at school, they were amazed to see their teachers had got into the Circus Day spirit, being dressed in full circus attire from the ring master to clowns!
Our boys took to the classroom activities with much excitement! Little Beacons had the opportunity to make popcorn, design their own clown hat, practice their circus skills and colour circus-themed pictures. Reception boys coloured clowns, made cuboid circus boxes and circus patterns.

After discussing acrobats, the boys watched some video clips of our very own Miss Kyla Cook (Lower School Teaching Assistant) representing Great Britain in gymnastics, as she performed with the rest of the team in Scotland, earlier this year. Her routines were amazing, and the boys watched in stunned silence and awe – it was very clear to see why the team came away with three gold medals!
A highlight of the day was for all our boys as they were immersed in the circus and participated in a circus- themed Drama workshop. They took to it with great confidence!
Our Little Beacons showed off their super circus skills in Games, being challenged to a variety of tasks to focus on balancing, catching and jumping. With extreme concentration and determination, they tackled each challenge with a lot of laughs!

Great fun was had by all, and it was a perfect day to end their circus topic.
