Enhancement
the
Program.
The program pairs students with peer mentors, alumni mentors, and master mentors. Throughout the year, our interns
engage
in
special
projects,
internships,
experiences, and service opportunities that allow them to apply theoretical knowledge and skills in a practical setting.
This academic year, our theme is “Conflict Resolution.” Most view conflicts as bad. However, conflicts in life are inevitable. They can provide great opportunities
for
examining
events,
issues,
and
hidden
issues.
If
the
process of resolving conflicts transforms all involved, why not use them as opportunities for positivity, creativity, and growth. COVID-19 is one of the greatest threats to our world. It has made it abundantly clear that we need each other, and that positive collective action is indispensable. In that regard, you will be challenged to understand more about teamwork and

HOW PEP WORKS PEP Interns are assigned to what we call P.I.E.S. which stands for:
PROJECTS o Lean Six Sigma Project o Bougainvillea House (Mental Health) o Elite Foundation (Anti-human Trafficking) o Dept. of Justice (Dialogues on Race)
INTERNSHIPS o Psychology Lab o Oral History Lab o GIS Lab o BMI Lab
EXPERIENCES o Weekly Seminars o Conferences o Lauderdale Lead o Elite Foundation Gala
SERVICE o Anti Human Trafficking Service Project o Special volunteer activities
It is expected the intern works on their PIES to achieve an outcome designed by them and their lead, mentor or any other professional they may work with or under. It is encouraged that interns take initiative to create their own projects and opportunities related to PIES.
