About the Cover: Photographer Abdullah Alsaleh (@Iambooda_) took us on a wonderful trip around the shores of Kuwait, showcasing the beautiful spots for our cover shoot with jet ski world champion Mohammed Burbayea. For this water immersed cover shot, both Mohammed and Abdullah had to put on their wetsuits, and go into the subtle yet freezing water to get the full dramatic effect we all hoped for. We witnessed Mohammed’s passion and natural energy once he was there, and Abdullah’s ultimate creativity in capturing an image unlike any other. If you’re reading this, that means you’ve made it out of the water-balloon and water-gun fights in one piece, either by travelling and avoiding the whole mess, or by hiding out at home, or at the very least by avoiding Gulf Road for the last few days! To be honest, even after all of these years of living in Kuwait, it still surprises me that so many people think it’s that much fun to bring traffic to a standstill, and bombard each other with water filled balloons. I mean, I’ve been to parades and National Day celebrations in many places all over the world, but I’ve yet to see anything like this take place year after year after year.
