Apple Pressing and Harvest Share The apple pressing was a really lively event and was very successful. Broadlands Orchardshare brought the apple press which was in service constantly for three hours, whilst we pressed Bathfords very own (and delicious) apple juice, even our local policeman, Greg helped! The apple pies sold out, Brian brought music, Penny's apple cake was scrumptious and it was so nice to see the children playing at the back of Tyndale, a great transformation of the area. So great thanks to everyone, especially Tim, Gill, Jan and Sumeia of the orchard, who expended great amounts of energy manning the press for the morning. The pressing also brought new people into the shop - how impressed they were! We have lots of offers of apples from the Harvest Share project, is there anyone out there who would like to pick some free apples? Please don't feel shy about offering, most of these apples would just wouldn't be picked without a bit of help and the owners of the trees really want them used. So, if you would like a good supply of apples throughout the winter, Bramleys, quince, dessert apples and others have been offered in Bathford, Woolley

and Batheaston. They just need to be kept in a cool draw, wrapped up, turned into juice or simply frozen. Just call me, Emma Jackson, on 858388 to find out where they are. Badminton Players. If you are interested in playing noncompetitive badminton, we have vacancies in a club that plays on Wednesday evenings, in a gym at Colerne. Contact : Dennis Pearson, tel 858293.
