Introducing the Autumn Memory Walk
We’re excited to launch a brand-new event open to all colleagues across the Trust –the Autumn Memory Walk, taking place on Sunday 19 October 2025 at the beautiful Manvers Lake.
This peaceful 5K (3-mile) walk is an opportunity for us to come together as staff, volunteers and external supporters, united by something we all share – the experience of losing a loved one, or knowing we will one day.
Whether you choose to walk in memory of a parent, friend, grandparent, patient or colleague, this is a chance to reflect, remember and walk with purpose.
While the Charity is raising vital funds for our Breast Care Appeal, you’re also welcome to take part and fundraise for any part of the
hospital or even your own ward or department.
Every step you take can help make a difference where it matters most to you and your team.
There will be dedicated areas for quiet reflection, and a special remembrance space at the end of the walk. Plus, food, drink and stalls will make the day feel warm, uplifting and full of connection.
We’re proud to be delivering this event in partnership with:
Rotherham Hospital & Community Charity
Doncaster & Bassetlaw
Teaching Hospitals Charity
Early-bird entry is just £12 for adults and £8 for under-15s, and includes an exclusive t-shirt, medal and sponsorship pack.

To support Barnsley Hospital Charity
Thanks to the gifts we receive in wills we are able to go the extra mile in supporting our patients here at Barnsley Hospital. These donations are very important to us and enable us to fund research, develop new ways of working and purchase state of the art equipment.
All gifts enable us to make a difference. Whatever amount you choose to give, we pledge to use your donation so that it has the greatest impact for our patients and leaves a lasting legacy in your memory. We want everyone to be able to make a will. That’s why we have partnered with expert will writers, Octopus Legacy, who provide a quick and easy service where each will is checked over by a legal expert.
Octopus Legacy also offers telephone and face to face will writing services for those that would rather speak to a solicitor, to find out more and to book an appointment simply call the team on 020 4525 3605 and quote Barnsley Hospital Charity.
