Last Friday, we came together to celebrate the dedication of our colleagues and volunteers, with over 200 nominations highlighting your outstanding contributions. The event recognised the individuals and teams who make a real difference to patients, colleagues and visitors every day.

The team in the linen room often go unrecognised. Throughout Covid, they worked tirelessly to create safe, homemade PPE for staff on the frontline. They make sure our patients have all they need to be kept clean and warm throughout cold winters.

Lead Midwife for Bereavement services Michelle rallied a team of eight including herself to take on a daring skydive, and collectively they raised nearly £8,000! This included colleagues and family members who had lost a baby themselves. The funding will provide lasting comfort for grieving families.

From Angela’s nomination...
I would like to nominate Angela Taylor for a Heart Award in recognition of her extraordinary care and compassion during a very difficult time for our family.
On the night of Friday 7th June 2024, Angela was one of the night staff providing excellent care to our granddaughter, who was 12 years old and battling a terminal illness. Angela went above and beyond.
Angela’s dedication, empathy, and kindness provided much-needed comfort to parents, grandparents, and the medical team. Her actions were truly remarkable, and we believe she deserves official recognition for her selfless commitment to care.
