The world of Giraffes. by Ben Believe it or not the giraffe is a mammal. You might think that the giraffe has about 60 vertebrae, well it doesn’t. It only has 7 vertebrae! Do you think that the giraffe has about 600 spots? well it doesn’t. It only has 200 spots. Did you know the giraffe has fur? Did you know the giraffe’s heart is 24 pounds and it’s 2 feet long? Did you know the average height of a giraffe is 5.5 meters? The average weight of a giraffe is 1,750 to 2,800 pounds. The giraffe has four legs and two horns. The tongue of an adult is 27” long. It has a tail that is 8 feet long! I See The Giraffe On The Savanna! The giraffe lives in the luscious grasslands with a bunch of trees and hot deserts of Africa. The giraffe’s home is, technically, everywhere. Some people poach giraffes and that affects their habitat because if they poach clans, all the clans will be gone. This would mean that that habitat would not have giraffes anymore.
