BSW STUDENT ATTENDANCE POLICY
When you train at BSW you can be rest assured you are receiving the very best barbering education to make you job ready in the industry.
Hands-on is the approach, with a tailor made day-by-day curriculum that has been fine tuned to achieve quality barbers at the end of their course.
The courses are designed to be intense, so it is important that your attendance and punctuality is on point otherwise it can have an adverse affect on your development and grading with BSW.
In addition to this, you are also gaining a nationally recognised qualification which has certain criteria that has to be met in order for you to pass unit, and eventually gain the certification This needs to be completed in a set time frame Poor attendance and punctuality is likely to result in you being unable to complete your qualification.
We have a class register which is taken daily by your educator, and we work on a simple points system so that our expectations are transparent. The register markings are as follows:
● 0 - In attendance
● 1 - Late
● 2 - Notified absence (informed us by submitting an absence notification)
● 3 - No show (failed to arrive without notifying us)
We then have benchmarks in place where we will flag concerns with students who are presenting poor attendance and punctuality
● 6 points = you will be called into a meeting with your educator/academy manager who will discuss the situation. At this stage you will be issued a letter expressing our concerns and that an improvement is required in order to complete your qualification
● 12 points = you will be called into a meeting with your educator/academy manager who will discuss the situation with you You will be issued with a second and final letter which will stipulate any further absence or poor time keeping will result in you forfeiting your qualification.

This policy is in place as we want our students to get the most out of their time at BSW, leave confident and job ready, make our clients happy and not let their class down.
