BARBER CHARS
4.1 Barber chars must be kept cean and tdy at a tmes.

4 3 n order to estab sh a sa e envronment for your c ent and maxmze ther comfor wh st per ormng a servce, you must:
a Ensure har s brushed from the barber char be ore and after a harcu
b Ensure you have the correct poston for the barber char:
c Before the c ent sts down:
·Ensure the barber char s uprght
·Make sure the barber char s pumped a the way down to ts owest poston
·Make sure the barber char s postoned acng the c ent as he waks towards you to s down
When the c ent s seated n the barber char:
·Turn the barber char to face the mrror
·Ensure the c ent s at the rght heght by usng he foot pump
·Ensure the backrest o he barber char s at he correc ange, for exampe, uprght durng harcuts and anged backwards durng shavng
f you need to take the clent to wash ther har:
·Ensure the barber chair s uprght

5. TOOLS & EQUPMENT
5.1Toos & Equpment are a vta part of the ob. They must be cleaned, maintaned to a high standard and used wth care.
5 2 n order to estabish a good standard o care and promote best practice when usng equipment, you must:
a Ensure you have access to a Barbcde Jar for dsnfectng equpment
b.Make sure you have a necessary equpment to hand. This ncludes towels, gowns, C ppercide and atex gloves
c.Scssors:
·Ensure you are hodng them propery when n use
·Ensure they are kept safey when not n use
·Ensure you are mantanng your scssors regulary
d.Combs and Brushes:
·Ensure combs and brushes are ceaned regulary
· a comb s dropped on the foor, t must mmedately be paced nto the Barbcide ar
·f a comb s used on a c ent wth a skn condton, the comb must be paced nto the Barbcide ar for up to 24 hours
Har dryers:
·Ensure you are not burnng the c ents head when n use
·Ensure wres are not tangled
·Ensure wres are not causng a trp hazard
·Ensure the har dryer does not fa o f the staton and hit the clent
·Ensure the har dryer s kept on hooks provded when not n use
g.Wash Basns:
·Ensure the wash basn s cean and free from har before attemptng to wash client s har
·Before attemptng to wash a C ent s har, you must:
·Ensure the body positon for both you and your clent s comfortabe
·Ensure you test the water temperature wth your hands
·Check wth your Clent f the water temperature s acceptabe
· f the foor area around the wash basn s wet or any product sp lage has occurred, et an Apprentice know as soon as possbe
h Razor bades:
·WARNING: Be aware of any opened razor bade packagng as it may st contan a razor bade Ensure al unused razor bades:
·Are kept n ts ndvdua packagng
·Are stored n a box at al tmes
e.Cippers:
·Ensure the c pper grades cover the teeth propery
·Ensure wires are not tanged
·Ensure wires are not causng a trp hazard
·Ensure c ppers are kept on hooks provded, or rubber mats when not n use
·Ensure teeth are ceaned once a day wth Cippercde
·Are never eft out n the open
Ensure that once a razor bade has been taken out of its packagng:
·The bade must mmedatey be paced nto a cut throat razor and then closed for safety
·The razor bade’s packagng must be thrown away
·The box contanng the razor bades must be returned to the product shel
·When transportng a cut throat razor, aways ensure t s closed
·Ensure a Razor Bade s ony used once and then dsposed of
· f a razor bade s dropped on the foor, t s consdered to be used and must be dsposed of
·Dspose o used razor bades nto the sharp s box.

·When shaving or conductng razor touch-ups, atex goves must be worn
