Verse 1
To God be the glory, great things He hath done, So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life our redemption to win, And opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Chorus
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice; Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.
Verse 2
Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, To every believer the promise of God; The vilest o ender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Verse 3
Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.
25 To whom, then, will you compare me, or who is my equal? says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes on high and see: Who created these? He who brings out their host and numbers them, calling them all by name; because he is great in strength, mighty in power, not one is missing.
27 Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God”?
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the faint and strengthens the powerless.
30 Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted,
31 but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
1 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God.
3 And not only that, but we also boast in our a ictions, knowing that a iction produces endurance,
4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,
5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
Verse 1
What a Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer!
Verse 2
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged, Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness, Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Verse 3
Are we weak and heavy-laden, Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge— Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee, Thou wilt find a solace there.
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of his terrible swift sword: His truth is marching on.
Chorus
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.
I have seen him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps; They have builded him an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read the righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps; His day is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; He is sifting out the hearts of all before his judgment seat; O be swift, my soul, to answer him; be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, With a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me; As he died to make us holy, let us die that all be free! While God is marching on.
Oh Lord our Heavenly Father, we bring our nation Barbados to you today. Bless the President, Prime Minister, all members of Houses of the Senate and Parliament, and all in administrative authority, grant them wisdom and grace as they exercise their duties.
Give them courage and foresight to provide for our needs, and to fulfil our obligations in the community of nations. We pray for our judges, other o cers of our Courts, the Commissioner of Police, Gazetted O cers and other members of the Barbados Police Service, grant them understanding, integrity as they safeguard our human rights and ensure that we live in a law abiding and just society. Teach us your people to trust in you who have been our guide for almost 400 years. May we accept our responsibilities to be each other’s keeper and do unto others as we would have done to us;
Lord, in your mercy ...
ALL: Hear our prayer.
Heavenly Father, on this special day we honour those who bravely sacrificed and served under the Colour of the Barbados Regiment. We thank you for their example of excellence and now commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of the Barbados Regiment who now revere and hold this Colour dear.
Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials, temptations and frustrations in all their pursuits; and give them courage to face the challenges that beset them and cause them to give of their best as they strive always for excellence.
May they know that nothing can separate them from your love:
Lord, in your mercy ...
ALL: Hear our prayer.
Loving Lord, and giver of all good things, we pray at this time for our families. We thank you for their love, support and understanding as we continue to serve our nation in many ways. Dear God, we know that having a loved one in the Barbados Regiment is challenging, lonely and frustrating at times.
Grant us the strength to resist temptations; patience and endurance when things are di cult; the ability to e ectively communicate with each other in working through our challenges, and most importantly grant us love, so that our houses are homes and wonderful environments where you are present and in which we nurture our families:
Lord, in your mercy ...
ALL: Hear our prayer.
ALL: Heavenly Father, you have a orded your servants a profession within the military and a Kingdom to win; accept and fit us for your service. Enter, cleanse and inspire our hearts. Give to us the spirit not of fear and frustration, but of love, power, courage and discipline.
Lead us in all our undertakings and may your love be present to guide, comfort and strengthen us; that though of ourselves we are unable to do nothing, yet in your strength and in the fellowship of your service we may serve the needs of nation in our generation and to the coming of your Kingdom; all this in Jesus name we pray.
Amen. and as our Saviour has taught us, we are bold to say ...
ALL: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever.
Amen.
Verse 1
Ho, my comrades, see the signal, waving in the sky! Reinforcements now appearing, victory is nigh.
Chorus
“Hold the fort, for I am coming,” Jesus signals still; Wave the answer back to heaven, “By Thy grace we will.”
Verse 2
See the mighty host advancing, Satan leading on, Mighty ones around us falling, courage almost gone!
Verse 3
See the glorious banner waving, Hear the trumpet blow! In our Leader’s Name we triumph over every foe.
Verse 4
Fierce and long the battle rages, but our help is near, Onward comes our great Commander, cheer, my comrades, cheer!
