The Executive Summary of the Baobab Diaspora Visions: Prospectus 2016-2021 is adapted from the environmental policy report reissued Sept 2021. The report is “a call to action” that stresses the need for communities globally, particularly those of color, especially those of African descent, to be actively involved in seeking policies and financial resources that protect their neighborhoods and are more responsive to the harsh weather-related emergencies impacting them. It emphasizes that "equitable development and job opportunities should be linked to sustainability, and protection of the Earth, and therefore can assist in reviving economically struggling communities." While released in 2016 after Paris COP21, it remains timely and vital. Consider: Global South nations in 2015 insisted wealthy states meet financial promises and clean technology sharing commitments previously made to assist poorer nations address the climate crisis.. In general, wealthy states have not. Check here for updates at COP26!
