ICTO, MM team install E-bulletin
monitors, made ‘easy’ for students to see night events
DAVE MODINA

In line with the ongoing digital initiatives of Mindanao State University–General Santos City (MSU-GSC), the Information and Communication Technology Office (ICTO), in collaboration with the Multimedia (MM) Team, installed two E-bulletin monitors outside the university gymnasium and launched a livestream broadcast on October 14.
This helped student attendees of last night’s Musical Night 2025 to monitor the whole duration of the event, after not being able to enter the venue because of its limited number of seats.
According to Ian D. Pueblo, a 2nd year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology student, he felt relieved after knowing that there will be a livestreaming of this year’s intramurals.
“At least hindi ko na kailangan makipagsiksikan sa gym para lang makapanood. It’s more comfortable and convenient since I can still enjoy watching the events anywhere,” Pueblo shared to Bagwis during an interview.
“Minsan lang nagshi-shake yung livestream or naglalag ng konti, at mas malakas pa minsan yung sigawan ng crowd kaysa sa performance kaya hindi masyadong marinig,’’ he added when asked about the problem he

encountered in the livestream.
‘Hindi na saklaw ng ICTO’
When asked by Bagwis, the ICTO staff elucidated that the issue of internet connectivity is not under their supervision.
“Hindi na siya saklaw ng ICTO, sa internet provider na po ang issue related sa internet connectivity ng livestream, sa networking lang kami,” the office explained.
Moreover, they clarified that this project was part of the ICT modernization project of the university—which was recently inaugurated— but because of the process it may take some time to implement.
“Diba dapat LED siya supposedly, pero kulang man tayo sa time. Wala pa siya naimplement, so sa phase 2 pa lang. I-e-evolve din na lang ang alternative solution para dito, sa live streaming,” they elucidated.
Why last night?
In addition, the office explained that it was installed last night and not on the start of the Intramurals 2025, because it varies to the organizing teams every night.
“During ‘Miss MSU’ diba may LED sa labas? kasi hindi namin siya saklaw kaya siguro
nagulat kayo kinabukasan na bakit wala na [LED],” they added.
Additionally, the TV monitors installed came from both the ICTO and Y building according to the ICTO staff.
Chancee hears students
Subsequent to the installation of E-bulletin monitors, there were numerous anonymous posts in ‘Buhay MSUan’ asking the university administration for a livestream during events in Intramurals 2025.
“Isang mapagpalayang umaga po! Meron po ba live streaming ng Miss MSU tonight po? huhuhuh for us na di makapasok ng gym and can’t afford the tickets, Salamat po!,” one anonymous post stated.
The ICTO clarified that because these kinds of concerns reached Chancellor Shidik T. Abantas, he immediately tasked his constituents to take action to resolve the concern.
“Ito po ay naka Special Order (SO) from chancellor, kaya kahit since ‘yung staff medyo aligaga kami no’ng una, pero, you know, with the help of everyone. Tapos may mga nag-day off pa, ‘yung iba do’n like our technical team, ‘yung networks,’’ according to ICTO.
Free rides ‘ease’
MSUans’
late-night commute during Intramurals

To ensure student safety and convenience during late-night events, the Supreme Student Council (SSC) of Mindanao State University – General Santos implemented the “Libreng Sakay: Intramurals Edition,” a free transportation service offered throughout the Intramurals Week.
The initiative provides two jeepneys available every night after the events, following the route MSU–City on a first come, first serve basis. Spearheaded by the SSC Students’ Rights and Welfare (STRAW) Committee, it is funded through the SSC fund, which comes from student fees.
According to SSC President Ramzel Ivan Hugh Delloro, the project was formally approved during a regular council meeting.
“As the President, I delegated the STRAW committee to hold the initiative. This was done through a
resolution funding the said service in our regular meeting,” Delloro said in an interview with Bagwis.
Delloro acknowledged limitations in resources but emphasized that the council utilized what was available.
“Kulang talaga, but we make do with the resources we are given,” she stated.
The SSC President also advised students to remain cautious when commuting after the events.
“Make sure to take care of ourselves. Late night na matapos ang mga events kaya doble ingat sa pag-uwi lalo na sa mga malalayo. This service is limited, we admit it, but at the very least, we are doing something,” Delloro added.
An anonymous post on Buhay MSUan shared how the initiative benefited a student who lacked enough fare to return home. The
post recounted being offered a free ride by SSC volunteers, describing it as timely assistance that allowed the commuter to get home safely.
“I think there is a need to post this. II was close na sa jeep when two guys — one naka-blue (sa unahan) and one naka-yellow (sa likod) — sabay nagsabi ng, ‘Sakay po ng jeep? Libreng sakay po from the SSC.’ Oa man pakinggan pero I was about to burst out crying na unta, thinking na ‘Yes, Loooord, ma-save ko money kooo.’ Ang sarap sa ears and biglang blessing po talaga para sa akin na wala na pamasahe,” the post said.
The “Libreng Sakay” program remains part of SSC’s broader efforts to support students’ needs during university-wide events, particularly in addressing accessibility and safety concerns during the Intramurals.

More than words, less than events.

And when words aren’t enough to deliver the message, MSUans put more depth through the power of literary, music, and the arts.
MSU-Gensan’s Intramurals is known for its globally competitive festivity—a number of foodstalls, sporty battles, mind-blowing activities, and artistic events. But this is not a mere vibrant celebration—it is a call for growth, peace, justice, and accountability.
Performers groove with passion, hit notes as they cry for change, and scream through creative actions seeking to address the never ending and unresolved issues of our nation. And yet, all these efforts and performances are all for nothing but slow movement of bureaucracy.

Movement for action
Arms stretched, feet wiggle, and body waves like tides. Before dawn breaks, before the day begins, dancers from different colleges are already pushing through. With tired limbs moving through rehearsals, sleep slipping through their fingers. For days, they keep showing up because of this fire that won’t let them stop.
Feet firm, chests lifted, eyes burning with conviction. In unison, they breathe—then boom. Voices crash like thunder, rise like revolt, echo like truth that can’t be silenced. The Literary night calls for protest, for prayer, a promise. Lines memorized, yes—but lived, too. Every word they speak, every movement students make, is a call to listen, to see, to understand, to imagine
something better.
Voices rise before the sun does, raw, cracking, growing stronger with each breath. Lyrics stitched with hope roaring with purpose. Each stanza, each note, dares to speak of justice, of peace, of people. The Musical Night tell stories of struggle and resilience that echo through our community and beyond.
These performances embody the very essence of art itself: not just to show beauty but to call for change. They shed light where darkness lingers. They give voice to the cries of the earth, the fight for equality, the hope for peace.
Each synchronized gesture, each song, each movement is a collective dream of MSUans—that the world can still change, and they are the ones to begin it.
