After making a plethora of guest appearances, singles, and penning the lyrics for some of our favorite tracks, De’mi Alyse is giving us a chance to get to know her on a deeper level. With the release of her debut project “Love, & Other Things” coming soon, De’mi goes in depth of what music means to her and her aspirations for her career moving forward. What impact has music had on your life? De’mi: In every way; it’s an outlet. It’s how I have fun. It’s the soundtrack to my memories. It’s made me a more thoughtful and level-headed person. What makes you say “more level headed and thoughtful?” How would you describe yourself before being involved with music? De’mi: Often when I write I do it from other people’s point of view so it’s makes me think about other people’s situations differently. And I’ve been singing since before I could talk And writing since I was around 9 or 10. It helps me express myself or visualize a better future or understand somebody else. When did you decide to take music seriously? De’mi: Mmm I kinda always did. My mom had me singing since I was little. She ain’t even let me joke around with it at the crib so I always wanted to sing. But in like 9th grade I recorded my first song that wasn’t gospel in secret actually. *lol* My mom wouldn’t let me record secular music. Then I got more serious on like perfecting my craft when I trained classically in college. And last year I started putting in wayyyyyyy more time with live performance And recording.

What are your overall goals for your career as an artist? De’mi : I want to write for successful artist and produce. What artist inspire you the most? De’mi: Neyo, Sevyn Streeter, And Ester Dean inspire me so much as writers. Beyoncé inspires me as an all around artist, and Anita Baker is a huge staple in my interest in music. Who is someone you’ve always wanted to work with? De’mi: This might sound stupid lmao but I always thought when I got older I’d make a song with Nate Dogg, but he’s passed now. I kinda think about what producers I want to work with than artist lately like Mike Dean, Play Picasso or London on the Track. Describe yourself as an artist. Who do people normally compare you to? De’mi: People’s comparisons are really all over the place I never get the same thing twice from different people.

Meet Kannibus Kings, organic grow company out of the metro detroit area. Their love for cannabis and its growth process is why K.K promotes organic growth; to give the most natural and cleanest cannabis experience. Their goal is to eliminate the negative stigma against cannabis and show how it can benefit you in more ways than getting blazed. From flower, to clothing, to ashtrays and lighters, Kannibus Kings is growing out of control. The sky's the limit, how high can they go...

What is Kannibus Kings? Kannibus Kings is a new marijuana growing company originated in the metro Detroit area. We are planting ourselves into the cannabis industry by providing the most organic indoor crop grown with natural nutrients. Some of our cannabis cultivation can be found on our Instagram page @ Kannibus_kings. We also have clothing that can be found on our Facebook @kannibuskings January 2020 | 8

How many members are apart of your group? In a deck of cards there’s always 4 kings. We all work as a team to successfully grow, market and advertise our merchandise in a way that we feel best satisfies our clientele. The four of us each have different experiences and skills with Kannibus which helps keep the growing process interesting. Where did the idea to become marijuana growers come from? Honestly We love to give credit where it’s do. First reason is the great goat; Berner. He put a hell of a mark in the cannabis industry. He and his team have been changing the game in ways marijuana has never been exposed before. We do our research, and Berner has been teaching game through lyrics from songs all the way back to 09 to small time interviews of today’s time in 2019. Alotta people don’t even know that majority of the marijuana strains we smoke today the ideas originated from Berner such as cookie, Girl Scout, Khalifa Kush n etc. Berner is a huge inspiration and motivation, we want to be able to provide the same energy he gives us to our city of Detroit, Michigan. What are your plans to put Kannibus Kings on the map? For starters we want to plant our roots here in Michigan where we are from. We plan to expand across the state from growhouse to dispensaries in the near future in the downtown area. We as a whole feel like cannabis can open a lot of doors for Michigan that can help rebuild the city using revenue and make us that beautiful motor city that we have the potential to be. We want to be able to show the world that marijuana is not a drug to be frowned upon but more of a stimulant or antidote that can be used to cure people in various ways. There’s way more to marijuana than just flower.

What separates Kannibus Kings from any other grower? Well all four of us come from nothing starting strictly from nothing just like our seeds that we germinate in the soil. The unfiltered videos, the organic products, the errors that we show along with our process are qualities that separate us from other growers. We like to show the good and the bad to prove our loyalty to our clientele as a way of being transparent. Most growers will only show you the outcome or show a process with only perfection and filter out the errors. We are not perfect and we gladly expose our errors and show our improvements from them. There are growers who use special things to spray there cannabis for attraction of the clientele, WE DON'T DO THAT. Why do you enjoy growing Kannibus? Kannibus is an art. There can never be enough cannabis. It comes is different forms different strains, different concentrates, etc. But actually growing cannabis that’s a skill that anyone can do but not everyone can perfect it. You learn your plants, you learn when there sad when there happy when they need to be fed when they’re thirsty. Too hot or too cold. It’s like growing a kid for 4 months. You wanna take care of that plant and make sure it grows as strong and as healthy as possible. Everything you do matters when dealing with cannabis. It’s more to growing than just lights and water and people don’t understand that. A lot of people are just looking for that next buck and will give you the next closest thing to dirt. At Kannibus Kings we actually care and are in tune with all our grow, we want to provide the best services that Kannibus can bring.

What has been your biggest challenge so far? My biggest challenge so far is being financially able to travel to different games out of state. How do you find players? Is it possible for someone to “walk on?” When I first started I used to look for players but now that our name is out there I don’t look for players anymore they usually get referred to me and if someone wanted to try out they can DM our Instagram page @ Michimoglobalproball Describe your proudest moment so far as a team owner. My proudest moment was when we went to Ohio and beat a team by 64. Our teamwork was great, defense and everybody communicated and didn’t complain.
