We’re proud to be the biggest single provider of Higher Education courses in an FE college in England. And one of only three colleges in the country to receive a triple TEF gold rating* - we even outperformed some much larger universities and ones with hefty reputations too. It’s also worth knowing that many of our degrees are awarded by Lancaster University, which consistently ranks in the UK’s top ten. All of which are great reasons to consider doing a degree-level qualification with us.

Whilst we’re rightly proud of our world-famous light show and iconic tower, there’s more to Blackpool than meets the eye. A happening food scene, buzzing bars, great night life and a thriving LGBTQIA+ community all make Blackpool a fantastic place to be a student. There are well-known music festivals too and performance spaces like the Winter Gardens which host some of the biggest names in entertainment. And if you need even more thrills, you can always pop down to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and take your pick of some of the UK’s most spine-tingling rides.

To cover the cost of your degree, you may want to apply for a Tuition Fee Loan. You can also apply for a Maintenance Loan to help with living expenses while you study. But that’s not all. Depending on your personal circumstances, you may be eligible for additional financial support from both the Government and B&FC.

Because we’re always looking to put our learners at the heart of everything we do, we’re happy to change things up.
We understand that a traditional three-year degree isn’t the right fit for everyone. That’s why we offer flexible degree-level qualifications that let you study one year at a time.
We’re also launching a two-year accelerated honours degree in Business Management, designed to fast-track your qualification and save you thousands in tuition fees.

That’s why we encourage you to attend one of our open events, so you can tour the campus, meet tutors and explore our excellent facilities. No matter how detailed a prospectus or website is, it can’t capture the full experience of studying here.

If you’re interested in developing a career in a highly skilled industry such as engineering, it’s good to know that B&FC is the lead institution for the Lancashire and Cumbria Institute of Technology (L&CIoT). IoTs were introduced by the Government to establish a national network of organisations offering outstanding technical education. As a result, certain degree qualifications we offer have been flagged as L&CIoT courses. What this means is that they not only offer exceptional technical training and access to fantastic facilities but also meet an identified skills gap in the region, indicating that employment opportunities are plentiful.

This is a new addition, ideal if you’re ready to study for a degree but don’t have the right qualifications. You can still enrol on a programme that could eventually lead to a full honours degree awarded by one of the UK’s top universities.

Applications submitted after the deadline are marked as “late” and may only be considered for courses if places remain.
If we’re the only place you’re applying to, you don’t need to use UCAS, you can apply directly to us for free. It’s quicker, easier, and there are fewer steps.

on the horizon
If you live locally, you might know that Blackpool and The Fylde College’s University Centre is moving to a new, state-of-the-art facility called the Multiversity in central Blackpool. The final design has been submitted and construction will start soon. If you study with us for three years, you could be among the first to learn there.
The Multiversity is designed to offer top-notch teaching with modern technology and industry-focused courses, making it a key part of Blackpool’s economic, social and cultural regeneration.
