TOWARD A BETTER FUTURE "To enhance the future." Those are the words set in the middle of the Arizona DeMolay Foundation's mission statement and they could not ring more true today. With our communities facing great issues like COVID19, new leaders and fresh ideas are becoming all the more necessary to pave the way toward a better future.

Our Foundation is proud to spend each day thinking about the best ways to enhance the future for our communities. We believe the best answers lie in the up-and-coming youth leaders that find their way to DeMolay in Arizona.

But while we recognize the value of DeMolay and the leaders it attracts, we rely on you to ensure they have the resources necessary for their success.

When I was a member of DeMolay in Arizona, I could always count on the Arizona DeMolay Foundation to fund my statewide programs and events.

With a robust group of donors behind them, I felt their neverending support and led DeMolay in Arizona to one of its most successful years on record.

Now, I am privileged to pay it forward as the Foundation's President, but I again call on your support. As we approach our fiftieth year of service, our Foundation is taking up the call to redouble our efforts as we build a pathway toward a better future.

REVVING UP:

DONATE A CAR TODAY! In mid-2020, the Arizona DeMolay Foundation agreed to terms with Automotive Recovery Services and Insurance Auto Auctions, to welcome car donations to our list of ways to give!

This is big step the Foundation is taking to diversify our income sources to benefit the leaders of DeMolay in Arizona.

In 2019, the Arizona DeMolay Foundation bid-out its investment services to several companies to ensure that the funds were properly monitored and allocated while remaining affordable. The Foundation made the determination to switch vendors to Trey Vineyard with The Vinity Group.

Each year, the Foundation makes a distribution to fund the DeMolay in Arizona program. To better protect the assets, the Foundation removed $15,000 from circulation to ensure that each year the distribution can be made without removing our equity positions in cases of financial hardship.

This strategy has helped the Foundation weather the storm during the COVID-19 outbreak and remain an effective partner to DeMolay in Arizona.

This Board remains committed to funding the happiness and success of the current and future generation of leaders produced by the DeMolay in Arizona program.

TRAVEL SUPPORT

$1,000 2019 CONGRESS OFFICER TRAVEL FUNDING On April 28, 2018, the Arizona DeMolay Foundation pledged to donate $1,000 to the Arizona DeMolay State Association each time a member was elected to either International Master Councilor or International Congress Secretary.

This fund is used as additional travel support for those who serve all of DeMolay internationally and we have been lucky to support 3 such young leaders in the past 5 years.

The Year 12 Story Series captures and showcases the journeys of members of DeMolay in Arizona who, with the Foundation's support, achieved extraordinary things both during and after their time with the program. They represent individual accomplishments that we hope any young man who reaches the age of 12 may someday have the chance to achieve through DeMolay,

DeMolay is one of the few organizations worldwide that truly allows freedom to experience leadership independent from adult intervention. I am forever grateful to DeMolay in Arizona and will carry its lessons with me for the rest of my life.

DeMolay changed my life, it's as simple as that.

DeMolay has surrounded me with role models, positive influences, and true friends. I don't just have thousands or friends, but I have a chance to be a friend, leader, and mentor to young men all over the world.

YEAR 12 STORY SPOTLIGHT:

FRANKIE'S STORY After discovering DeMolay through his father, Frankie quickly joined a surging Cochise Chapter and became a "credible and ambitious" leader, according to the adult volunteers who guided him.

Frankie's skills earned him a slot at advanced leadership training in California; a training where Frankie found his drive to be a great leader.

Upon arriving back, Frankie ascended to Chapter President and soon, his leadership potential began to carve out opportunities in his personal life.

With excellence in DeMolay and the Foundation's leadership support, Frankie now attends the United States Military Academy at West Point.

The members of DeMolay in Arizona that our Foundation supports are who we raise money for and why we get up to work each day. Our visitation to Valley of the Sun Chapter is just the start of our efforts to remind ourselves just how important it remains to support the future leaders of our communities across Arizona and generate awareness of our and DeMolay in Arizona's important work.

FROM THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER

TOGETHER TOWARD PROGRESS DeMolay in Arizona is grateful to the Arizona DeMolay Foundation. Since its inception in 1972, the Arizona DeMolay Foundation has provided various financial grants to help young men ages 12-20 realize their full potential for the betterment of their communities. The Foundation's annual grant now covers over 50% of our programming expenses.

“Service” and “Leadership” make up the central educational components within our program and we put those values into action by holding our first statewide Day of Service assisting Arizona's veterans. Our Youth Development Experience is a first of its kind high school, college, and jobs preparedness program that has been recognized by Arizona State University and made available to requesting schools and the Pennsylvania Masonic Youth Foundation. Our State Officer Development Program has produced two DeMolay International Presidents and one International Secretary in just the past 5 years alone. All of this progress would not have been possible without the Foundation's generous support.

DeMolay in Arizona has grown from 27th to 16th in total membership size within the United States in the past six years, creating an increasing need to assure we have the resources to expand our programming. The Board of Directors of the Arizona DeMolay Foundation have resoundingly and relentlessly labored this past year to develop a future path built on measures that drive incremental growth in income through sound investment strategies.
