An adaptive reuse project, B(o) at House reimagines the Michigan rowing club boathouse as a sanctuary and community education center for the Big Brown Bat. A native species, B(o)at House was conceived based on community desires for their neighborhood green space, where bugs were a common nuisance.
This space provides habitat while visitors can watch and learn about the native bat, or take one of the provided hammocks to the outside space to enjoy the river, stars or the sensory experience of the forest. Special red lights have been chosen for their neutral reactions with rhodopsin, the night vision chemical.

AU SILK FACADE
As a team, we built a section of wall from the AU office space in Beijing. Before becoming an AU project, the site was a silk prodution plant, processing silk from harvest through distribution of silk sheets and threads. Following the architects drawings, we cured almost 200 custom cement blocks. Then by
off setting the blocks from eachother by a small amount, the visual appearance changes from a solid wall to a sheet of silk blowing in the wind.
