The 2025 season for Maserati Corse – which only returned to closed-wheel car championships in 2023 – has ended extremely positively, with even more titles to add to the House of the Trident's historic trophy haul.
With the LP Racing team's Maserati GT2, Philippe Prette took the title in the Am Class of the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli[1], retaining champion status to follow his previous win in 2024. On 22 November, Prette received the honour at the annual SRO Motorsports Group Awards, held at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia in Venice as the crowning glory of an exemplary season in which he won 10 of 12 races and secured the title for the LP Racing team.
2026 will see confirmation of the Modena-based manufacturer’s cars’ inclusion in the GT2 European Series championship (debuting in Monza on 30-31 May), with Maserati joining the SRO GT Academy project announced at the most recent 24 Hours of Spa.
This new format includes a new Silver class, to award the SRO GT Academy title to the winner. A car
