Exciting news for all our employees! Great news! We are pleased to confirm that from January 2016, all Avanta Care employees will receive holiday pay on overtime hours. We are introducing workplace pensions In 2016 all our candidates will be automatically enrolled on a workplace pension. Government rules state all companies will need to enrol their employees on a workplace pension scheme by 2017. However, we have made the decision to begin the process early.
What is a workplace pension? A workplace pension is a way of saving for your retirement that’s arranged by your employer. A percentage of your pay is put into the pension scheme automatically every payday. In most cases, your employer also adds money into the pension scheme for you, and you get tax relief from the government. For more information visit www.gov.uk/workplace-pensions.

Introducing our new Domiciliary Care Manager We would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Domiciliary Care Manager Amanda Campbell. Amanda brings with her a wealth of experience, having started working in the care sector in 2003 as a domiciliary care worker, before moving in to a management position in 2007. Amanda has since managed services across the North West of England. Most recently, she managed a large geographical area of live-in care service users, where matching the right staff to service users was essential. New web site coming soon! We are very excited to announce our brand new web site will be going live later this month. The new Avanta Care site has been in development for the last 6 months, and will be launched before this Christmas. As well as having a modern, fresh look, the new site will be more interactive with our other systems, our online training portal and our social media pages. Keep checking our social media pages for updates, previews and an announcement of the official launch date.
Training portal update Our online training portal is currently in development and should be live by April 2016. “We have tested the development site of the portal and it is excellent” said Craig, Business Development Manager. “It is very user friendly, and has access for both candidate and client. We see this portal as a simpler way of our candidates completing the Care Certificate training, and for our clients to mark work and sign off completed elements”.

Children in Need The team in the Avanta Care head office raised ÂŁ200 for Children in Need in November. After a week of deliberating various sponsorship ideas, it was decided that the men in the office would do a sponsored waxing. Becky, a former beautician brought in her waxing equipment and the volunteers rolled up a trouser leg, and had a leg waxed each. The brave four were Rob, Gareth, Paul and Eugene.
