Find Balance, Find Health, Find Community at East Orlando Gym & Wellness Center A little over a month ago we received notification that the relationship with one of our long-term community partners, the YMCA, was going to be drastically changing. Over the past 2+ decades Avalon Park Group has enjoyed a great relationship with the YMCA, but with all things, change is required for growth. While we share in the community’s sadness, we view this as an opportunity to reevaluate health and wellness in our community. Upon notification of the departure of this much needed service in our community, I immediately began thinking about how we can fill this void that our community values and needs. While I brainstormed with my team and close advisors, we thought what better way to find out what the community needs, than to ask them. So that is what we did. We sent out a survey and started having conversations with you to find out our next steps. I want to truly say thank you for your continued support and valuable feedback. What we heard from you loud and clear was that you wanted a gym, but that gym needed to be accessible during more hours. We also heard that you wanted new equipment. We also heard that you loved the staff and classes and wanted to see them stay! We heard you and we are happy to report that
we were able to address most of the top concerns that we heard from you! We called on a long-time community partner, East Orlando Sports Group, to work with us to address these concerns and start bringing some life to your requests. We will open the East Orlando Gym this November. And while the exact date depends on a few logistical pieces, we are committed to providing as little downtime as possible. The Y will operate their last day on October 28th and will need a couple of weeks to remove their equipment. We have ordered brand new equipment which is scheduled to arrive Nov. 13th, at which point we will begin installation immediately. The space will also require some refreshing, like painting and minor repairs, but we will not be closing the doors to do any renovations at this time. While there are larger plans to upgrade the space over the next few months, but it is our goal to provide as little downtime as possible, so we will transition quickly to get you working out as quickly as possible! While we are getting the space ready, we will be hosting several pop-up events and exercises to keep you active. While there might be a few down days as we transition equipment, please rest assured that we are committed to keeping this facility open with several positive changes, including enhanced equipment, lower membership rates, expanded classes and more accessible operating hours. To learn more about those details and to stay up-to-date on any new announcements visit EastOrlandoGym.com or email Marketing@EastOrlandoGym.com. At Avalon Park Group, our vision has always been clear – we are dedicated to creating a thriving town where community members can live, learn, work, and play. We firmly believe that community health and wellness are vital components of this vision, and we are more committed than ever to see it through. Avalon Park Group remains committed to this community, where we, too, live, learn, work, and play. Together, we will shape the future of wellness in Avalon Park, ensuring that our shared vision of a thriving, vibrant community comes to life. Thank you for your trust, your support, and your dedication to our shared future.

To Be on Not To Be, That is the Question. It’s well-documented that buying a home can be stressful. The decisions that need to be made can become overwhelming. Some are emotional, some are financial, and understanding what you don’t know. I’ve often said that knowledge gives a person the power to make the right decisions. If you’re asking yourself, “When is the right time to purchase a home,” the thoughts below may help. 1. TIMING: Only you know when the right time is to buy. Often, we don’t know what we don’t know. Your trusted real estate broker can provide invaluable knowledge, enabling you to make the best choice.
5. SECURITY: Having a 30-year mortgage your principal and interest remain the same. Homeowners have a hedge against inflation, a sense of security, and stability whereas, Renters are at the mercy of their landlord selling the home or raising rents every year.
2. CONTROL: It’s important to understand you can’t time the real estate market or interest rates. Instead, focus on finding the right home for yourself. Remember, don’t try to control what you can’t control. 3. BUILDING: It’s well documented that home ownership increases your personal wealth vs renting. Buying a home should be considered a 5–10-year investment. You’re building equity and increasing your personal wealth with each mortgage payment. You could consider this as forced savings.
6. STABILITY: Are you in a financial position to take on the financial obligations of home ownership? Is your income stable and do you have enough money saved for the downpayment, closing costs, and a reserve savings fund? 7. WISDOM: Always purchase less than you can afford. You don’t want to be held captive to your mortgage. 8. IT’S YOURS: Renters are paying off someone else’s mortgage. It’s a waste of your money.
4. ASSET: As you build equity, over time your home will become an asset. Remember, the only way to get money out of your home is to sell it or refinance it. You’re not alone as you choose to move forward. Come and have an informal chat with me. We can discuss whatever it is you need to know or understand. We can discuss your goals and together we can put a plan in place so that you can achieve them. “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” -Albert Einstein

Building Your Website for Success to your business on Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. This means people will see your website first rather than other websites, drawing more traffic in. Most users don’t go past the first page, so prioritizing getting your business out there is key. To do this, make sure you’re creating high-quality content, writing blogs with keywords, posting on social media, etc.
Online presence is vital for growing your business. Having all your information in one place will allow customers to get everything they need to. Creating a whole website from scratch can seem challenging, especially if you’ve never done it before. Here are some tips to get your website set up and ready for success. Pick a Website Builder There are plenty of free-to-use website builders online! However, if you want the website’s name out of your domain and other features, there usually is a monthly payment that has to be made. Some reliable website builders to look at are Wix, Wordpress, Weebly and Squarespace. Make It Easy to Find Use a domain (website address) that’s easy to remember and people can find right away. Your domain should relate to something about your business and shouldn’t be too long. Also include keywords that people will see when searching something related to your business. Label Everything When someone first uses your site, it needs to be clear on where they can find everything. Any typical business blog should have tabs for contact information, who they are and what they do, services, impact and news. Keep a Simple Design There’s no need for crazy colors or random images all over the website. Keeping the layout of your website eye appealing will draw more people in. Stick with neutral colors and images that only relate to what’s being said or shown on the screen. Prioritize Search Engine Optimization Improving your SEO allows your website to rank higher when people search up something related

Assessing Community Health and Wellness Needs: Together, We Can Make a Greater Impact A little over a month ago more than 50 east Orlando community leaders met in the Avalon Park Pavilion to connect and collaborate on like-minded initiatives. The purpose of this inaugural meeting was to ignite open and collaborative dialogue with business owners, government officials, non-profit and faith-based leaders, schools and activists, to discuss the needs and initiatives in East Orlando. This meeting was the first of a multi-faceted effort to learn and address the diverse needs in our community. After a lengthy discussion, the group determined that the next step is to hear from the community!
information gathered from the community leaders into a report that will be used as a benchmark to develop and improve programming, amenities, resources, and services in our community.
Our community is as diverse as it is vibrant, and your well-being is at the heart of our mission. To ensure we meet a holistic health and wellness aspiration approach, we are conducting a comprehensive health assessment in the form of a brief digital survey. And who better guide this process than the community members themselves? We want to hear directly from you!
Our simple request is for each of you to fill out the short survey by scanning the QR code below no later than November 26th. By doing so, you will be providing valuable information on what is important to you regarding health and wellness within your community. All answers are anonymous and will be used as a base to understand what the community views our overall health as, and how we can improve it through community action.
We have compiled a series of questions that will help us better understand where the gaps are, where we are excelling and where we can grow. The survey data will be compiled, along with the

Easy Ways to Decorate for Fall Let’s face it, Fall in Florida is still, unfortunately HOT. We are dependent on the calendar to tell when each season begins and ends. The pumpkin spice latte and aisles in Hobby Lobby try to convince us Floridians that fall is near, but the sweat rolling down my back tells me otherwise. Even if I have to set out my pumpkins with the A/C on, I like to celebrate fall in our home with some simple decorations. I don’t like to store too much stuff, so I try to use things we already have around or can easily recycle after fall is over. Here are some easy ways to decorate for fall, even if the AC is still on!
3. Add a Wreath Since we don’t get the yellow, orange, and red fall leaves that usually adorn the classic fall wreaths, some beautiful eucalyptus still keeps the fall vibe while staying true to our still-green natural color palette. Picking an asymmetrical shape adds another modern touch. 4. Little Pumpkins Everywhere
