Goodwill and Orlando Union Rescue Mission Celebrate Successful First Year of Program Benefitting Shelter Residents Goodwill Industries of Central Florida (GICF) is celebrating a successful inaugural year of its partnership with the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. Through the partnership, Goodwill has provided financial and career guidance to community members who don’t have stable housing.

In late 2024, Goodwill launched its Prosperity Platform partnership at Orlando Union Rescue Mission’s shelter to offer residents workshops and one-on-one coaching about securing employment, building up savings and ultimately maintaining independence.

“Helping people achieve their goals comes first at Goodwill, and by combining our efforts with another nonprofit that’s dedicated to transforming lives, we’ve expanded the reach of valuable resources and opportunities,” said Ed Durkee, GICF President and CEO. “Many Central Floridians have already achieved stability thanks to this partnership, and we look forward to making an even greater impact in the program’s second year.”
