Machined Wheels Wheels & Castors
Get optimal performance for your requirement or application.
We estimate over 60% of all wheels and castors in use are the wrong specification for the requirement, environment, or application they are used for. The impact of this will range from an annoyingly wobbly trolly, to a potentially unsafe one. Getting it right saves time, effort, money and much more.
With over 40 years’ experience in the sector, we have built unrivalled levels of technical knowledge and expertise; and our global network provides access to the most comprehensive range of products and potential solutions available in the market. This means if we don’t stock the product you need, we can source it. If we can’t source it, we can design, develop and make it. The best solution is often in between.
We firmly believe in shared success. So, to support our customers evolving needs, and provide confidence in the products being used, we offer several purchasing routes:

Why Machined Wheels?
Machined wheels are created using a precise computer-controlled manufacturing process making them suitable for industries and applications where precise dimensions, durability, and performance are crucial factors.
Industries
Machined wheels are predominantly used in:
• Automotive industry (especially in high performance vehicles and luxury cars)
• Medical equipment (for their smooth, precise movement and ease of mobility)
• Industrial equipment (as they can handle substantial loads and offer reliable operation in demanding environments.)

Our ‘off the shelf’ range covers the full range of applications and extends to the most unusual functions. Series 96A is available in both Steel and Cast Iron, with fixed or swivel top plates and brakes.
→
Series 64 with keyway can operate in temperatures from -20/80 °C
In addition to stocking standard machined wheel sizes, we now also offer a fully bespoke engineering service and have capability to make special steel wheels to ensure the best possible solution for our customers.

Wheels & Castors

Cast polyurethane tyre bonded to cast iron centre wheel
° Cast iron centre wheel
° Standard to medium-heavy duty loads
° Zinc plated (unless described as stainless) pressed steel castor housings
° Tested in accordance with ISO 22878:2004
° Manufactured in accordance with ISO 22883:2004

Uses & Industries
Ideal for applications with heavy duty loads, even with mechanical handling at high speeds. Combined with appropriate brackets, they guarantee excellent performance up to 16km/h. The excellent rolling resistance allows an easy handling of heavy loads even with wheels of small diameter.
Floor Suitablity
Suitable for tiles and cement-resin. Not suitable if large obstacles are present.

Environments
The standard reference used by Tellure Rôta for the construction of the key housing is UNI EN 6604-69; therefore, the tolerance on the width of the key housing is JS9.

Tellure Rôta is at your disposal to customise the product, modifying the bore with a groove for a key housing of different dimensions or a groove for a tongue according to the specifications of the Italian (UNI 6604 and UNI 6607) and European (DIN 6885) regulations in force. The maximum applicable diameter for each wheel, guaranteeing the carrying capacity values, is given in the product dimensions column.
Keyway wheel with Vulkollan® tread
96A
Steel, cast iron and nylon flanged and flat tread wheels
° Single flanged wheels and all steel wheels
° For use with I beams, parallel flanged I beams, standard channels and rails
° Heavier duty wheels for use where highest carrying capacities for the smallest wheel diameter is required
° Manual and some powered handling applications
° The first table offers a wheel complete with a threaded axle, two locking nuts and a grease nipple
° The second table offers a more robust single flange steel wheel with heavier carrying capacities
° Operating temperature subject to correct bearings and grease
° N.B. If wheels are subject to extreme applications or impact loading, contact our technical sales department
Intended mainly for static uses and for high carrying capacities. The model with plain bore is resistant to temperatures from -40°C to +400°C and is therefore particularly suitable for oven applications. To use a castor at temperatures above 100°C, the wheel needs to be fitted with a specific bracket for high temperature use.
Suitable only for smooth and compact floors. Not suited for areas with obstacles. They may damage fragile floors.
