Diamond Lakes Regional Park opened on November 11, 1999 on land formerly known as the Augusta International Raceway. The land was purchased in 1996 and funded primarily by SPLOST funds. Soon after, league play begun. Since then, over 600 tournaments and 18,000 league games have been played. Diamond Lakes has hosted two ASA National Tournaments, and numerous athletic associations tournaments such as ASA, USSSA, SPA, NSA, ISA, GHSA, BPA, WFA, GRPA, USFA, Triple Crown Sports, Terry Pendleton Baseball, Lisa Fernandez Softball, and the Georgia Games.
