The Lytton at Chalfont Dene is located in picturesque Chalfont St Peter, one of the largest villages in the United Kingdom. Despite its slightly more urban state, Chalfont St Peter is still full of stunning, natural beauty. Referred to as the Gateway to the Chiltern Hills, it is full of charming historical features including manor houses, museums, cottages and parks. Visitors flock to Milton’s Cottage, Colne Valley Regional Park and Chiltern Open Air Museum each year for relaxation and recreation. The village and surrounding area is popular for local food and drink producers including Chiltern brewery, Campfire Gin and Challen’s Chicks eggs.
The Lytton at Chalfont Dene is located in the civil parish of Chalfont St Peter in Chiltern district, Buckinghamshire. Visitors to the town centre can enjoy a series of quaint Georgian shops or travel to The Greyhound, a former court house where hangings were carried out near the banks of the River Misbourne. However, the town is a much more ancient place than it would seem from the outside. Although many of the historic buildings were demolished in the 1960s, the village is part of a larger area known as Ceadeles Funtan or chalk springs, first recorded in 949 AD. The town received its own designation in 1237 when the suffix was added, likely taking its name from the local church. You may even recognise some of the town landmarks from the 2012 TV programme, Derren Brown: Apocalypse.
