Mayfield Owners: Let’s set Sail Together
A group of owners recently enjoyed a week-long cruise together, sailing from Tilbury to France, the Scilly Isles, and Cork, Ireland
The trip was a chance to explore new places, share good food, and create wonderful memories, while still allowing everyone to go at their own pace.
“The ship was very charming and old fashioned. And the holiday went very well.Everyone got on but could do their own thing. There were excursions during the day but we tended to eat together in the evenings.”
Marilyn Sylvester.
Evenings were spent dining together, sharing stories and laughter, and building friendships that will last long after the cruise ended

Why companionship matters.
Emotional wellbeing
A familiar face and a friendly chat can make all the difference Regular companionship brings comfort, routine, and a welcome boost to your day
Independence, your way Support should never feel like interference. Companionship helps you stay active and connected to people, places, and the things you love
Flexible and personal
No one-size-fits-all here. Whether it’s a weekly walk or the occasional theatre trip, support is shaped entirely around you
Peace of mind
Knowing someone’s there reliable, kind, and familiar, can be reassuring for both you and your loved ones
Live life your way.
Could companionship be just what you need?
Hello,
Over the years, I’ve met many wonderful people across our villages, each with their own routines and way of life. One thing that often comes up is companionship Many of us have spent years managing just fine alone, but companionship isn’t about losing independence. It’s about adding connection to the life you already lead It could be a walk, a cup of tea and a chat, sharing hobbies or company at an event you’ve been meaning to attend. It’s not care in the traditional sense – it’s flexible, low-key support that fits around you, whenever and however you wish
Sometimes, after a change like losing a partner or moving somewhere new, life can feel quieter than we’d like Companionship can help make life feel fuller again, without pressure or obligation And if the idea of uniforms feels off-putting, that’s no problem –we can keep things relaxed and natural
It’s your time, your space, your choice If you’ve ever had a quiet patch or just fancy a bit more connection, companionship support might be worth a second thought
Warmest regards,
Michelle Forbes Head of Care Audley Group

Simple tips for a safer home
By Kelly Bradbury-Owen Mayfield Health and Safety Advisor
Prevent falls. Easy ways to stay steady.
Falls are one of the most common accidents in the home, but the good news is they’re often preventable
Secure Rugs and Carpets:
Loose rugs can be a tripping hazard Try using non-slip pads to keep them in place or opt for rugs with rubber backing
Good Lighting:
Make sure areas like hallways and stairways are well-lit to help you navigate safely Motion-sensor lights are great for automatically lighting up spaces when you need them.
Add Handrails and Grab Bars:
Installing grab bars near toilets and in the shower can give you extra support and help prevent falls
Keep your indoor spaces organised. Reducing hazards and clutter
Declutter Regularly:
Keep floors clear, especially in high traffic areas like hallways and near stairs. Regularly tidying up can prevent clutter from building up and help you move around your home more freely
Maintain Clear Walkways:
Ensure that pathways throughout your home, like those leading to the kitchen or bathroom, are free of obstacles Arranging furniture to allow easy movement will help you avoid any unexpected bumps
