OUR STORY
Langton’s at Cooper’s Hill is a modern British restaurant and bistro concept, brimming with character. A truly historic setting for culinary excellence, Langton’s occupies space once belonging to Brunel University and lies nestled within the 68-acre Magna Carta Park. Fresh, seasonal dishes are meticulously-presented by our in-house culinary team each day. Our stylish venue is the perfect location for business meetings, engagement parties and canape receptions. In the summer, our terrace is the perfect place for lavish family barbeques. Located not far from London in Surrey, Langton’s is convenient via all traditional modes of transport.
OUR SPACES
Langton’s at Cooper’s Hill is surrounded by well manicured gardens in Englefield Green. The private dining room is stunning, with large feature windows and cosy surrounds. Perfect for business meetings and boardroom lunches, modern amenities are complemented by several period features. The lavish restaurant features immaculate place settings on crisp linen with swathes of blue and grey, while the bright bistro offers a more casual environment. Take a seat at the bar and sample wines from across the globe or step out onto the terrace to enjoy the glorious British summertime.

LOCATION
Langton’s at Cooper’s Hill is located in the large village of Englefield Green, just off the M25 in Surrey. Originally formed from the merging of medieval farmland and a small hamlet, the town has played host to many famous faces including actress Marilyn Monroe, Saudi billionaire Walid Juffali and author Leslie Charteris. Visitors to the area can overlook Runnymede where the Magna Carta brought basic freedoms to England in 1215. The historic town centre contains several shops and amenities for visitors. Popular food produced in the wider area includes Norbury Blue cheese, gin from Distillers of Surrey and Hogs Back Brews.
HISTORY
Langton’s at Cooper’s Hill is a stone’s throw from Englefield Green infamous for the last duel in England, fought by two French nationals in 1852. The victor was mentioned by Victor Hugo in a small section of Les Misérables. Visitors to Priest Hill can stand on the spot where Lt. Frederic Constant Cournet and Emmanuel Barthélemy crossed pistols. Barthelemy, who was already thought to have committed two murders, killed Cournet. He was then arrested for his murder but aquitted. Barthelemy would not escape the hangman’s noose forever. Three years later, Barthelemy was arrested after a failed blackmail attempt and hung for the deaths of two men in London.
