Got handicap down to 2. Represented the county at under 21 level and attended golf university
I was captain of my university and played for university against others in BUCS tournaments. Played on the Iberian Pro Golf Tour as an amateur in portugal for 3 months. Won local competitions and represented the menâ€™s county team for the season. Got my handicap down to 1. Got my first ever world amateur ranking and was 4500 in the world.
Again was captain and played for university in BUCS tournaments. Placed in top 15. Played in Algarve Winter Pro Tour in Portugal for 3 months as an amateur and placed in top 15 in all events. Also shot lowest round of the week on my final round (68). Had a full golf season competing in world amateur ranking events such as English Amateur, Midland Open, South East England, West of England, Welsh Amateur. Won a county event. Had a number of top 10s in county tournaments. Got handicap to scratch. World amateur ranking to 2800.
Played in Portuguese International Amateur, was in top 25 until 3rd round. I won my county order of merit golf tournament at start of the season. Have a full season planned out, such as English Amateur, British Open Qualifying, Nordea Golf Tour event in Sweden, and all top world amateur ranking events in the UK. I have represented my county menâ€™s team on every occasion and am seen as an asset to the team. My world amateur ranking target for this season is the top 1250, currently 2700.

Legacy Gary has done everything he can to gain experience and improve his amateur status. His goals are very high and his work ethic matches those goals.
What makes you different to other athletes? I have vital experience and have played at the highest level internationally. I am physically strong and distance is one of my strengths. I have the ability to become very relaxed in high pressure situations and have proven this by closing out tournaments and county matches. I’m a mature, driven athlete who has played at University level and know what it takes to advance. How hard do you work on your goals? I’m a very motivated and driven person. I often refer to my goals and set targets for every season. I dedicate every day to training. My coach sets out training plans and schedules as well as my fitness coach. I’m constantly meeting time frames and targets. Why should a coach choose you for their team? I have valuable experience in international fields and tournaments. I’m continuously improving and becoming a greater golfer. I believe that I have the ability to keep progressing and make the next step. College Goals These are crucial for me. I want to complete my degree to BSC honors degree in Business. I want to expand and further my knowledge in the business industry. Life Goals To become successful, play on the European or PGA Tour. With an Honors Degree in Business and become the best I can be. I would also like to give something back to the world.
